Blizzard had been more transparent about this than anything I’ve ever seen them discuss. Granted, that is an exceptionally low bar. This identical mage exists in Herod, Stalagg, and Benediction. The point is as much as people want launch to be flawless and they play their one character forever, you can get caught up to anything you accomplished on those servers in a day, two max
This is a terrible analogy. You perform a final walkthrough before signing the paperwork and you don’t sign if the plumbing doesn’t work. If the deal falls though you don’t just move to a different state lol.
At least you didn’t try to make an analogy with McDonalds. I’ll give you that much.
what a horrible analogy .
Here is a better one :
You get a gym membership but the gym is not open yet but you can come in and see the equipment.
You go to the gym and go what a great piece of equipment, I would like to use that when it opens.
Opening day, that piece of equipment has a huge line of people that want to use it, you can either stand in line or go to the identical piece of equipment beside it and you CHOOSE to stay in the line instead.
Day one my original pick with reserved names had an over 700 minute wait time. I didn’t want to wait so I found a low pop server and logged in. I was able to create all 7 names I wanted and play without queue times, of course it isn’t my original pick but I found myself a guild and I am having fun.
Mean while my guildies from retail are no where to be seen because of the queue time waits and the GM is just going to stay on Retail now. In the long run I made a good choice to move and find new fiends to play classic.
If I ever get to log on to the server I’ll be deleting my characters to open those reserved names for others.
Actually, a more appropriate analogy would be that you join the gym only to find it crowded to the point of being unusable. The owners shrug their shoulders and suggest you visit their sister gym 15 miles in the opposite direction. Oh, and you’re going to need to complete the membership application process and pay the application fee again.
Show me your subscription to Herod. You can log in and play World of Warcraft Classic right now. Your whole guild can. Together. Right now. What you want is available. Even in primetime it is available. You are being stubborn.
Analogies are fun. Imagine you’re at a water park, in line for a waterslide with a 2 hour wait. And then they open an identical slide right next to your line and say… Please go down this one instead. Why are you still in the old line?
I don’t blame Blizzard for not perfectly anticipating the overwhelming turn out of players playing Classic last week. The problem is, now that we had and still have issues getting online, communities, guilds, and friends have been split up on separate servers and they need more urgency and allowing player transfers so people can play with their friends. No one is going to reroll a level 45 character at this point. I think Blizzard is failing to realize that people will lose interest much sooner when they aren’t on the same server as their friends because of the launch week fiasco.
Making more servers is the last thing they need to do. The population always drops off after the first week. People either get bored or run out of time off and have to get back to a normal schedule.
If Blizzard listens to you we’ll have 20 empty classic servers and only like 4 of them that anyone play on because you couldn’t deal with a reroll before getting too invested in your characters with your circle of friends. Now your only choice is to sit through the queue till the peak falls or pray that blizzard listens to you and watch them open up dozens of future dead servers that nobody will play on.
Personally I’d rather them ignore you. It’s better for the longterm health of the game. There are WAY too many servers now than they needed you and several millions of other players are just too stubborn to do the right thing.
You can have that there are servers available. And blizzard rolled them out this way so that any server that is open should have enough people to sustain a population long term. And they told us this was how it was going to work all along!!!
i mean, if logic enters the argument i’ll be happy to discuss it, but thus far you simply keep repeating the same nonsense ~jUsT ReRoLL~ line with zero acknowledgment of any of the nuances complicating the situation for folks.
that makes no sense, you don’t need to pay for your WoW subscription again and the servers are 2 clicks of your mouse to change server. Now if you are complaining you can’t play on serverX but you have a 30+ character on it then you are contradicting yourself.
