What is different on blizz classic that made bears so undesirable? or made DK’s more desirable?

Bears are the best rawr!!!
uh no one uses bear tanks on any wotlk private server, it’s usually warriors in tier 7 content when it’s a fresh server till there main tank prot palla is geared, than it’s nothing but prot pallies and 1 blood dk.
Feral tanks are just terrible in wotlk.

Cat is fore fite.
Not sure what the difference would be, but Bear tanks really struggle with threat in Wrath and have the weakest CDs of all tanks. Their only saving grace is the absurd avoidance they can get later, but Chill of the Throne swats them back down to the bottom in ICC.

On pservers druids were amazing offtanks because their offspecs were considera ly better. The other druid specs in classic are busted though for a variety of reasons. Wild Growth is borderline useless as a resto, but primarily Omen and their set bonus proc waaaay less than it did on Pservers.
On pservers ferals were S tier dps in this phase, maybe 1st or 2nd overall, which is extremely useful on any fight where you dont need 2 tanks for the entire duration as they could swap freely back and forth with relatively little penalty. But in classic theyre F tier dps, which makes them much less valuable as offtanks
Druids have ALWAYS been the least played class, even when they were good, going all the way back to OG classic. In wrath all 3 specs are C tier or worse… So no surprise you dont see them much

been a few years since i played ps, but i saw a lot more druid tanks than i see now (literally zero whole wrath classic)
If it’s done patch by patch that makes more sense. On the patch we’re playing on bears have their avoidance nerfed.

Are you talking about Bear Druids in particular, or Druids in general?
no one played feral druid tank on wotlk pservers, never…its always paladins/1 blood dk, sometimes prot warrior in early tiers, that’s it, and I’ve played every single one of them for past 10 years lol…NA loves to post fake information…
Cat dps feral sure not bear tanks, they are the worst tank in wotlk, hot garbage.
People mainly talk about feral tanks due to Pserver nonsense, especially on Vanilla.
bear was easily the #2 tank on warmane when i played, '15-'17 roughly
i pub raids most weeks on my alt and i have never seen a single feral tank at all in wrath classic. none. period
maybe they’re all in guild runs or something. but i thought i would at least see a few after 7 months
