Vision & M+ gear is pretty much free Mythic gear.
Honestly I like ESO’s approach a lot better than WoW.
SWTOR was a lot of fun for a while. The problem is they haven’t release a new raid (operation) in something like 5 years. Imagine if Hellfire Citadel was the newest raid in WoW. That’s where SWTOR is.
While I did enjoy that game for quite a while, stagnant is the only word that can still be applied to that game. It’s a massive multiplayer single player game. All they do is release a new story arc here and there, but no end-level multiplayer content to match.
The problem with ESOs approach is 1) legendaries are just more stats of the rare/epic versions and 2) because everything is ‘relevant’ the meta just stays the same and youre stuck running the same content for years. Imagine running something like BRF or SoO to this day because they have the best tier set got your class.
I played SWTOR for a long time when it first came out, and had a ton of fun with it.
I recently went back because BFA was getting stale, and while it was fun to see old faces and places, the game really hasn’t improved in the last 5-6 years.
PVE Combat is still really wonky, npcs slide in and out of position, and unseen npcs from far away agro sometimes for no apparent reason.
That said, the OP was right about one thing. I really feel like SWTORs equipment system is far superior than WOW.
Try to imagine you get a chest piece in wow at level 1, but instead of stats, it just has 6 gem sockets. You can then fill the sockets with gems however you want.
Crafters can make gems for the sockets, gems drop from enemies, raids, dungeons and quests. You can literally wear that level 1 chest piece all the way to level 120 just by upgrading the gems.

By other day I meant 3 months ago just for one day, not even a day like an hour tops.
This.
WoW currently practically throws gear at you. I have a number of toons that have never set foot inside a raid this expansion and they are geared around 445 purely from what they can pick up in the game. And in that gear, with the amazing corrupted procs, they can do some serious smashing.
High level play that is difficult should always award appropriate rewards. Otherwise, why bother? For many players (I’d even say most on this occasion) who do those high level activities, the gear is the reward for their success. Why in heaven’s name would casual players like me be entitled to something like that?
What do you mean when you say casuals?
You’re mad because players who invest like 7 hours a day to the game, get more items than those who play, i don’t know… 1?
You say that like it’s a bad thing. With ESO you can get yourself BiS with crafted gear set and a head & shoulder from dungeons. All of which are transferable between your toons. All that is left is to have fun doing the new content that is released fairly regularly.
Another person who wants the best gear for little effort.
SWTOR? What is this? 2012?
between my chars i have managed to save up about 130 million credits, there is just nothing to spend them on… none of the shells on the gtn are really worth spending credits for and if there is anything from the cartel market i want, i get free currency for that every month…
You referring to my post?
If by little you mean spending months getting your crafting professions up and doing veteran dungeons that are like Mythic 15+ to get a Monster helm that is the correct armortype.
Hey now! SWTOR is a fine game, fel I still play it today and have a shiny founder title . . . still love WoW though . . . ESO to. DON’T MAKE ME CHOOSE!
I am going to go play AoC. Logged in to play wow and I have this thing called corruption on multiple pieces of gear, 86 corruption as a matter of fact. I cannot go 20 feet without either dying or nearly dying. Apparently I have to do a quest chain and then do a dungeon…do not like dungeons. So my choices are go find another game or complete a quest chain, then run a dungeon until I am cleansed. By the way, all I wanted to do was BG. So instead of doing that I get to cleanse. Stupidity thy name is WOW devs. Remeber when reforging was removed becasue the devs thought it was a needless hassle? Yeah.
I’m leaving too. What I’ll be doing, I don’t know. Maybe I’ll become a youtuber I love recording and editing, so I’d only have to decide what to record.
You really should check Guild Wars 2 instead if the gear progression is what is annoying you. The game is designed around an absolute ilvl cap and then does “horizontal progression” beyond that point so your character is never outdated.
I believe ESO has a similar system too.
Good question since you can get heroic raid gear doing casual content.
Good luck farming credits. SWTOR’s endgame is very expensive because of massive inflation. It also requires paying the monthly subscription to be able to wear almost everything and to participate in everything that gives you gear.
Was a good game but they screwed up the story with Eternal Empire.
Felt disgusted at it.
