Why I quit Wrath Classic

Wintergrasp was the number one reason I re-activated my account. It is all I wanted to do in Wrath Classic and Blizzard borked it up so bad I knew it was beyon repair. Just made a random player on Mankrik a happy player they got all my gold before deletion. I am playing retail again so I saw no reason to play any farther.

I just wanted to say how dis-appointed I am in the Classic dev team and the decisions they have made. The purpose of playing a classic version of the game is to get that classic experience you had. To enjoy the parts of that expansion you loved. I am 100% against any “changes” for that reason. Yeah I am one player so it means nothing to Blizzard, but I have read a lot of posts about how our experience was robbed and I agree. The reviews on Dragonflight look promising so I might buy it after a couple of months in. I learned after BFA waiting for the honeymoon to end is the best time to find out if an expansion is worth it.

To all of you that are loving Wrath Classoc I salute you and hope you gain everything you are trying to accomplish. I am so devastated at how Wintergrasp turned out. I used to play every match in the original game and the battles were so epic and fun. Like Alterac Valley Wintergrasp cannot be saved. I wish Blizzard would focus on the PVP side more or just release a classic version as it was unchanged. Merry Christmas to you all and have a Happy New Year!

I agree. What they did to Wintergrasp is unforgivable.

Massively raising server population caps and having permanent layering was a big contributor to this, and probably the most massive change from an authentic classic experience that spans all 3 version.

Working as intended.

they got you to sub back with wotlk bait, then ruined it just in time for you to stay sub to their new expac, which will age like milk just in time to go check out Uldur. They are playing the tune and you’re dancing.

Yes that is why they need to get rid of layering. I would rather transfer server if its too populated then to have it ruin a game experience.

No, no. Classic is a new, modern take on the wrath expansion.

Yeah they did this to appease the people who screwed their own servers up beyond repair.

Imo if you screw your servers balance up you dont get to play the authentic WG. Fair is fair and maybe itll teach people not to do these things

I can see a lot of reasons that people would quit wrath but wintergrasp is not one of them.

I played the heck out of it in original also and i am having more fun this time. Maybe because the matches seem to always be even this time. Not sure. But everything seems fine to me.

No. They need more layering. They need to remove seperate servers and make one server that everyone is on. Like a real mmo would do.

Thx for this I quit post However I must say that only coming back for mostly wintergrasp is a strange reason and would have to be considered by most as just another variation of Battlegrounds. Sure it’s tied to a Raid but they have changed it so that you only need one team per realm win it to get that buff so it’s moot… mostly…

But asking for attention by making this post and saying that is the reason is sorta silly don’t you think? Most people I know came back for the nostalgia and the feel of the game and it’s simplicity.

PvP in World of Warcraft Classic, and it’s consequences, have been a disaster to the human race.

Exactly. Layering adds to this problem, too.

One of the major reasons I wanted to play WOTLK over TBC was Wintergrasp. They butchered, and I mean BUTCHERED the World PvP component of the zone. It used to be great for PvP in between games, you’d be left there, and people went there. Now, there is no purpose, and there is always both a Horde and Alliance keep.

The game itself was fun, because it was your chance to rally up your server and take it back for Vault, or just to prove dominance over the regular alliance who did it.

Really, really, really disappointed what they did with it. Layering hurt world PvP enough

Little did you know that by giving that player your gold you created a cascade of events. That player’s character became an addict, sold all his belongings, and is now known to inhabit a cave just outside of Orgrimmar… Wintergrasp is the least of your concerns, mister!

In all fairness I didn’t believe that the BG had such a huge draw? Who’d of thunk it?

Yes a far better idea was to keep Wintergrasp the exact same, especially on the 100-0 servers… so that only 120 people on a 40,000 person server would get a chance to play (.3% of total players on that server) versus the 1-5 of the other faction there.

So not only do almost nobody get a chance to play wintergrasp on the dominate faction, but the opposing faction has absolutely zero chance to win with 1-5 players regardless of their huge stacks.

What a wonderful idea! Lets just make EVERYONE unhappy.

This is the typical “why im mad but have zero logic behind my anger”… better known as “blind rage”

Good, thanks for uninstalling. We need less Mankrik players in WG

Wintergrasp was an attempt to replicate the best open world pvp ever- isle of queldenas from TBC. It failed and everything they tried after never was as good as the Isle in tbc.

Really? I hated Wintergrasp back in vanilla when it was coded good, I cannot believe you paid a sub leveled a toon all the way up just to play a lame AI based Battleground!

That would be like me quitting WoW because Aisle of Conquest sucks!

Nobody liked WG in vanilla we only did it to get the gear and honor!
