Why I quit WoW and canceled my sub

I have played (mostly) classic wow off and on since it came out. I have also dipped my toes into live retail WoW. Classic WoW is my favorite version of WoW. I would play the new anniversary realms but there is only one pvp server which locks you into only one faction. I also have no desire to play a million different versions of the game. It is also splitting the community, so the world feels less alive.

When I tried retail live, I found that the journey was gone, replaced with speed leveling that got you to max level in no time without really getting to experience the world. Warmode has also ruined WoW, the excitement and danger of leveling in a pvp zone is just gone. My guild was a 6/8 heroic progression when I quit a few months ago. Mechanics wise raids were somewhat easy to understand, but keys were just impossible to understand. Because my guild barely did keys, I ended up having to buy gold carries for high level keys for gear because I didn’t understand what was going on. You pop in, and it’s just a race for how fast the tank can pull, how fast the dps can dps, and how fast the heals can heal. I prefer the slower pace of classic wow.

I logged onto my 60 undead lock in classic vanilla wow for some hillsbrad pvp, only to find that ganksbrad was empty devoid of any players questing or pvping. Maybe I’ll come back and try classic ++, but I don’t think so.

After reading the topic I linked below I don’t think you’'d be ok with anything classic with + in it’s title
