Why I hate maining on an RP realm

Going to post on an alt so I can dodge some bullets, but I don’t think RP realms really work the way blizzard intended and the community on them (in my experience) tend to be pretty foul.

So the realm i’m on a fair estimate of people who genuinely do real normal Rp is probably around 15-20% of the population. The rest is either people who don’t RP (which is fine) or people who solely ERP or only play on RP servers to edate. Like it’s gotten so bad to the point there’s people (trust me, it’s not rare) who will pay gold for someone to even pretend to “edate” them.

Like I don’t really know what to say but wherever I go it’s just people flirting around their weird kinks and stuff and nobody is ever doing actual serious RP for noobs like me to try it out. The people tend to be really aggressive too, if you thought horde PvP realms were bad you haven’t met some of the people on here. :grimacing:

Anyways just thought i’d throw that out there, hence why I don’t bother playing my main much anymore because of the realm.

People are weird man.

Just find a server that suits your fancy if a RP one isn’t doing it for you.

Here we go again. Like we don’t know what server you’re talking about.

Back in the day when I played on Tichondrius, when the server would go down we’d roll on Moon Guard to sit in the inn as alliance as watch all the freaks ERP. It was hilarious.

You’re the type of person that makes up the inn. Permanent residents of Moon Guard generally avoid it.

Um… you’re not actually really hiding. It’s still really easy to find out who your main is. Just an FYI.

The trick is to play Horde on MG and Ally on WRA… you still get good pop, but all the looneys and tourists are on the other side.

Wut? I dont reply much in the forums but how do u know who someonse main is? Ive nevrer figured that out my self. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Uh you did it. Don’t you think tons of other people are doing it too with lame excuses like “see what the hype is about” or “watch all the freaks ERP.”

The interesting thing is ERP is done in whispers so I’m wondering what you’re partic— I mean “watching.”

Amen.

I’ve found great RP on MG. Been there for years. The server is what you make it. If you want real RP, there are guilds recruiting and there is plenty of walk-ups going on.

If you want to just joke around, there is a community for that too.

If you want good RP, seek it out. Just don’t make the mistake of waiting for someone to approach you. Make the RP you want happen.

You can compare the legacy achievements of two characters and see if their dates match up.

You can look at their collections - especially named/rare pets. Then look at the site that tracks little pet collections for matches.

Simple solution.

Get off Moonguard get onto WRA.

58% Horde 42% Alliance so its slightly more balanced. And they’re a bit more strict to lore with their RP.

Fixed that for you.

Well, hard to have a discussion without naming the server.

I’ll give you my take on the active RP servers I’ve played in and my experience thus far. I main in ED, and the RP here is mostly military-themed light-to-medium RP where people mostly enjoy WPvP and fashion their RP around that. WRA is a server where people do a lot of heavy non-pvp RP, and there is a lot of dnd style RP stories that people like to play out. MG is kind of in the same boat as WRA, but they tend to take their heavy RPing in the opposite route of military-theme and wpvp.

A brief note on MG: it’s not all ERP. Compared to ED at least, the RP is very dynamic and tends to happen in a lot of hub stops like stormwind and orgrimmar. The server feels more alive in general, because people interact with each other and it’s not just people secluded within their guilds or afking for battleground queues in boralus.

Have you tried avoiding goldshire like everyone else on MG that isn’t “there to watch the freaks” or “see the erp”? If so, you’d find at least MG alliance the legit rp folk are much more chill.

Imagine coming to the forums to complain about a realms environment. Like, if you don’t like it, go to a different realm. One where you get phased into others and have no server community.

Alliance players will complain about literally everything.
