Why hunter is the most played class?

According to warcraftrealms’s census, Hunter is the most played class followed by druid and paladin.

I wonder to know why hunter is the most played class while rogue or warlock are one of the least played classes?

Is it because hunter is fun?

Hunter has had the stigma of being super easy to play and level since vanilla.
It also has a pet and people like pets.

well in that case warlock should be easy as well

Hell yes it is but I think a lot of people are playing them right now because they’re awesome at solo content (visions.)

Because it is easy.

They are easy but they don’t have 100s of different demons to pick from to match their outfits. Also, Blizz gutted one of their specs to make Demon Hunters which was ouchie.

Probably because it’s the only Bow user in a high fantasy RPG and all the other ranged classes are magic casters.

Hunters may as well be a hero class.

Took me a whole year to pick class for a main during Vanilla . At the time i didn’t like melee or a caster class like the mage . Towards the end of Vanilla i have chosen a hunter to be my main . I love the Bow , gun , traps , and to tame animals . There is no way i could be bored with this class .
I even pick a name for my hunter " Tigerfist ". My pet tiger is my best friend .

BM is just a stellar spec for beginners and solo players alike and has always been. They also make very useful alts for similar reasons as they’re very quick and easy to level.

BM also happens to be by far its strongest specs right now and is very forgiving to play.

Whenever BM falls out of favor the number of active Hunters always tend to plummet, at least as far as both PvP and raiding is concerned because the other two specs are always on the more technical side of things.

I’ve always wanted an Archer class that deals physical damage and bleeds while using push backs and roots like “Leg shot”

Give it leather armor and an on use CD for mounted combat using your last used ground mount. (Think Paladin Horse but useful) Warhorn for buffs and maybe even a disorient. Can call in ballista bolts or a volley of flaming arrows. Idk man. Something else that uses bows.

it would be if it wasn’t for; "we’d rather you didn’t play demonology"™

the spec has been screwed up for years. the other two aren’t much better.

There’s some good ones if you look hard enough :p. Our Cata/MoP era PvP sets were great too.

Hunter has always been pitched as a great place for new players. If you ask a lot of experienced players what they think a new player should play, they’ll suggest starting with a hunter.

It has pets, which are collectible, and give you a reliable tank to make all content less dangerous for new and more experienced players.

And i think depending on the player, yah it’s a pretty fun class.

Warlocks aren’t as played, for comparison, because A) They’re advertised like pseudo edgelords and B) They have pretty much always been a more complex role. If someone wants to play a caster, mage is usually the starting point.

It may be related to the fact that every race can be a hunter. Additionally, it has been around for a long time and people tend to play what they’re used to.

I’ll grant you there are a couple good ones but most of them look like castoffs from a failed clown college.
