Why High Elves Don't Work: A Primer

Just like them Forsaken who had been hunted like monsters when they tried to return to their families? Whose name literally refers to how they were forsaken by their people for being undead?

Yeah, kind of like being spit on (metaphorically) when my DK arrived in Stormwind for the first time. I mean, I wasn’t killed but I was already dead…

And then allowed to return.

“What’s up, guy? Ready to serve the Alliance? No we’ve always been this welcoming to the undead.”

I am of the mind that blizzard should reorganize the allied race system entirely for the sake of consistency moving forward. With many potential allied races already confirmed to be slated as base race customization come shadowlands with likely many more as of now unnanounced I believe blizzard should create a subrace category that you choose after selecting the base race.

They would all share the same racials but have access to different customization and class options. For humans the kul tiran model isn’t linked to kul tirans anymore but rather available for all humans regardless of national background. Instead the subrace selection would mostly change your character’s voice to match the accent of your chosen nation.

Allied races moving forward should be used for new races such as the vulpera and when a subrace/group gets swapped to the opposite faction like void elves and nightborne.

As it stands without this change I really hate the inconsistency and I honestly think that if blizzard ignores it it will bite them in the foot later down the line years from now and they will be forced to do it anyway but it will then be much more work. Unfortunately that is how current blizzard does things. They are stubborn until the very end doing whatever they want until it is clear they are at the end of the line and have to make the change for something.

Ok, so the Horde gets to reclaim all the DKs and the Alliance gets to reclaim all the DHs then?

Blood elf demon hunters were always a thing. Don’t blame me that your faction is angry old woman level racist.

Hang on, Blood Elf DH - a former Blood Elf remade at the genetic level into a DH - makes sense to have stayed in the Horde but my former Dwarf Paladin being freed from Scourge and returning to the Alliance doesn’t?

Exactly. Easy clap.

It wasn’t that the Forsaken didn’t want to go back. It was the Alliance that rejected them. An undead dwarf isn’t somehow less undead.

to be fair, it’s not like the alliance was accepting a whole people, with the death knights it’s more that the alliance leadership is accepting a handful to help against the scourge.

i imagine lorewise that the people of the alliance are still very hostile to death knights

We have water filters so we don’t need bottled water, though my dad usually gets some anyway. I went to buy snacks the other day and a lot of the shelves were pretty bare.

I mean, Alliance command in Boralus basically tried to off Thassarian by sending him and some other problem recruits to take on an entire necropolis with no backup. Granted, that could also have been part of Valanar’s scheme to dismantle our forces from within, but Thassarian’s sister seemed to think the army had it out for him for real. Ironic considering he’s later seen directing the 7th Legion airborne troops deployed to Icecrown.
