i think this has been especially aggregious because it was promoted across the anti helf base as evidence helfers were racists for wanting human skin colored elves. to the twitterverse, a racist doesnt deserve even a job, much less a playable race on a video game
It’ll make the people getting angry and quitting look really silly.
If Blood Elves don’t get blue eyes, I’ll keep asking politely. If they say ‘no’, that’s just fine. It’s their game.
quitting over blue eyes is silly. quitting because your fellow players threaten you with charges of racism because you want the same elf theyre playing, is smart
Quit because you choose to. But trying to make it someone else’s fault is not taking responsibility for your own actions, it’s a cop out.
people lose their bank accounts, their jobs, their credit cards, and often their families, over the suggestion they might be racists. the twitter mob is a serious machine. its ruined countless lives over unsubstantiated charges
Care to post some evidence of the regular “anti” High Elf people doing this? Or is this another one of the taking one bad actor and claiming they are all toxic ect ect in an attempt to play the victim card?
What is blizz going to do exactly? There’s a bunch of people who could care less about the eye color but have come to dislike the helfer crowd. You really want blizz to punish everyone who as asked for eye color options because of some people behaving poorly?
Seriously, not cool.
I have no idea what you’re referring to but if you’re claiming you have to quit the game because you were slandered there are other avenues to deal with it.
The entirety of the high elf community isn’t toxic either and some people want all of us to not get them just because of bad encounters with some.
I’ve gotten some jabs in but I’ve only ever thought it wasn’t a good idea for alliance helves over adding the customization to the already existing blood elves since they’re the same thing. Tensions are gunna rise but long run I’m just happy that panned out since I think it makes the most sense.
You say that but then you follow up with this…
So you do the same thing you claim they do to you then saying that people should not get cosmetics because of a few bad actors? This just makes me think you are just like the people you claim are wronging you personally.
i thnk belfs should get whatever eye colors the devs are willing to give them. i dont think helfers… or in my case, half elfers, should have to endure countless accusations and insinuations of racism, because they want to play a race in the game.
I am saying that’s been a theme, and now people are being super toxic and rubbing it in as if it’s even confirmed. More people should be calling that crap out.
Also I was just saying it should go both ways. If people think all high elf fans should be punished for what some do, then I guess those mocking suicide should earn punishment for the other side.
And for the record, I am not, and have never been opposed to blood elves getting blue eyes, and I think there are great people on both sides.
Well when Ion says Blood Elves are High Elves. And then this customization comes out. It’s common sense to think that Alliance High Elves aren’t going to happen. Really I’m not sure what else me or other people can say to you Helfers. No hate, just common sense.
You shouldn’t be discussing with the people that are trying to call you racist for liking a race. I’ll admit, I rub in the fact that Belves are possibly getting new customization. Yes I am aware that it is toxic. But there is a fine line between toxic and just downright wrong. Calling people racist for wanting a race is wrong. Do not discuss with them. High Elves may be an objectively bad race to add but calling people racist for wanting any sort of race disgusts me.
I don’t think high elves are just an eye color. I think we can get high elves with their own model, and a variety of non glowing eye colors to differentiate the two.
It’s a wonder why the world is in such a good state having people like that.
Idk what other model you would give them. The only thing I could think of would be the Void Elf toggle others have mentioned. But even that is a stretch, we have too many elves as it is. The Alliance needs more variety imo.
Accusations, insults and insinuations have been flying from all sides of the isle on this topic and on every single topic to do with WoW. No one wants that.
I mean, we all know they’re not gunna get some unique model since that model is already in the game and used twice already as playable. It’s grasping at straws for something, anything, to avert what’s going on.
There’s no reason for a model change that wouldn’t also apply to blood elves unless it was so drastic that they’d stop even being related in the least and wouldn’t be high elves like the blood elves are.
