I think the only meaningful difference is that I think I have compelling reasons for wanting my pixels blue, and personally I put more stock on a good reason over the more simple selfishness of not wanting others to have something close to what you have.
One feels more petty, again, as meaningful pettiness is when we are talking about video games.
At the end of the day I just don’t think playable High Elves would negatively impact the Horde/BE. And that’s my opinion as someone who plays both sides, loves blood elves, but just wants… more elves, selfishly so. I just don’t think that selfishness gets in the way of other’s enjoyment.

Contrarily, I feel I have compelling interests in not wanting that can of worms opened and the effects it will have on the story both within the lore and on the quality of the story, have a good chance of being detrimental to the game. I put more stock in that than a petty bit of upset that the pretty elves were given to the wrong faction and a years long campaign to try and take that back from the horde.
It’s all pov, you’ve got reasons for feeling the way you do about the situation, I have my reasons. I don’t think either of us is wholly right or wrong, this is just a difference of opinions on a completely subjective issue that has no right or wrong answer.

Ultimately, yes. I might disagree with your points, but that’s the gist of it; at the end, is entirely subjective. What I see as something that could have potential, you see as something that could harm the game.
And so far, the devs agree with you. Ultimately, it’s all about choices and the subjectivity of those. There isn’t a “right” or “wrong” answer holistically -because lorewise I do think HE’s are perfectly viable as an AR, but is just nor a lore issue-

Legit I agree is the best solution, but the devs nor the playerbase are ready for that talk.
I don’t think it’s whether or not they’re ready, more that they don’t yet consider it a realistic possibility
Realistic possibility? We have Void Elves, I don’t think we are talking in terms of “realistic possibilities.”
As I have said before, they could easily retcon the Silver Covenant as being mostly Half Elves to different degrees. Lets not forget that Dalaran has had half elves since like 3k years in the past, so there’s definitely the time for a half elven population to have happened.

Maybe I worded that wrong. They’d be a realistic addition, but they don’t feel like an imminent inclusion that’s bound to happen

I know, but a while ago I was pretty clear with them I wished to not engage any further with them, and yet they continue to do so even though they seemed to understand.

Yeah…no. You can make an argument without making a reference to what amounts to people’s frame of mind and motives. The use of the term ‘selfish’ is turning the discussion personal.

It’s also dismissing our position. We have a different vision of what the factions should look like and how they should be composed. It’s deciding that our desires for the game do not matter and we are just being cruel.

What if they based them on some active role models who are out and about in the community?
Then I wait to see from here on out every helfer starts their defense of their demand for high elves on the alliance with, ‘We selfish helfers…’.
