It’s just a very odd thread to share a picture of a gnome with faerie dragon wings glued to the back.
i’d have posted it in the elf thread if it were up. i figured most of the helfers who are still around, must read this thread. its an idea i had for a gnome variant that i had mentioned in the helf thread but there’s not a helf thread atm.
following the theory that most of wow and its predecessor, everquest, are based on d&d. in d&d, the elves and fae come from the faewyld, a sort of other dimension, similar in concept (i think) to the emerald dream. thus far, wow hasnt had any fae other than dryads, keepers of the grove and sprite darters (well, there’s also the upcoming ardenweald but its not clear if thats wow’s version of the faewyld or not) none of which are playable.
ofc they read it. but you could have also posted it in our discord. arent you in it?
i prefer gnomes as they are tbh. a fae gnome is too bizarre

This is an anti high elf primer thread. By definition it’s a thread about elves and why they shouldn’t be a thing.
So therefore it is an elf thread.
like peddlefeet. and their racial mount = dryad who also doubles as their pet. pet does different things depending on class. if hunter, chucks spears, if druid some druid spell, if rogue some roguey thing, etc. haha. cant be dk or dh.
a monk version would be cute. think they need those curly toe shoes for their heritage set. haha

By definition it’s not a pro helf thread. Art of ARs is only tangentially related to pro helf threads and not at all related to this one.

sorry. dont know where to post it. its tangentially related to elves in that elves and fae are related in pre-warcraft lore sources. could have a similar version for goblins, with centaurs as their racial mount, perhaps. aren’t centaurs a fae race of some kind? wikipedia says they are related to harpys and satyrs *forgot those are also fae in the game, that are also unplayable. also minotaurs, which are playable (tauren)

yeah. the foundation for warcraft races is pre-warcraft lore. elves, drow, minotaurs, goblins, trolls, orcs, dwarves, various fae-folk such as harpies, dryads, gnomes and so on. in those foundational lore sources, fae and elves come from the faewyld or feywild (the plane of faeries), whereas humans, orcs and so forth, do not come from the faewyld.
it’s clearly not identical source material but its foundational, as a result a gnome fae would be right at home in a story or game derived from those sources.
Uh… You’re mixing a lot of things there that don’t mix. Though that was a cool little window into your mind.
