You’re trying to imply some sort of “gotcha” in relation to the reasons players have been asking for Alliance High Elves.
The truth is, there are as many reasons for wanting playable Alliance High Elves as there are people asking for them, and no one reason invalidates the request.
Are there people who only care about the aesthetics? Yes.
Does that matter in the slightest? No, no it does not.
There is nothing wrong with wanting Alliance High Elves just because they are aesthetically appealing. It does not de-legitimize the request in any way, and whether you realize it or not, when you try to imply such, you fall flat on their face every single time you do it.

No. No it does not. And even if that were true (which it isn’t for everyone), it doesn’t make the request any less legitimate.

One reason isn’t any more valid than another.

That’s a terrible analogy. This is a fantasy game full of different races and groups. Blood elves literally pointed out in game that they are not high elves, you’re just being a contrarian.

I don’t view flip floppers in a very positive light. Were they lying then or now? What if they are still lying? Why should I believe anything they say? Can’t have much of a conversation with someone with that looming over them.
