Why haven't you quit yet?

classic’s been out for 5 days, and tonight they’re opening 2 more realms after already opening 2 dozen others and raising limits.

people need to quit for a seemless layer removal in a few weeks like promised, but it doesn’t look like that’s happening. every server they add is just another dead server after you all quit, so why are you making them create more dead servers?

will you quit when layers get removed and you get stuck behind a 100k queue and told to reroll on a new server to play? will you quit when they decide layering needs to stick around? why haven’t you quit yet?

Define “Dead” server. I believe vanilla servers were around 3k pop?

Because I’m not ready to quit. I’m having fun still.

Feel that people need leave? You first.

i’m not leaving, i’m ready to play classic for years, but blizzard said that most players will quit in a few weeks, so i’m asking all of them

Why would I quit a game that I’m having so much fun with?

My friends and I switched servers 4 times. We rolled on Herod early in name selection then had 5 hour Q times. We kept starting over until we landed on Sulfurous. Longest Q there so far has been 5 min. We are sticking with that realm now for good. The game is awesome. The launch was interesting. So happy to have the game I loved back to the way it should be.

dead is dead relative to whatever makes a vanilla realm dead.

blizzard had all the data and came up with a good estimate for how many people would be playing classic after most people quit in a few weeks and had an appropriate number of servers for that, but because they don’t seem to be quitting yet blizzard is being forced to add more extra servers to hold them, but when they do quit all these extra servers will be dead.

I’d love to see a source for this

Anyway Blizzard can only predict so much, it’s obvious Classic turned out to be much more popular than anticipated

Sure the playerbase will decrease over time but that seems like it will be a good while before it gets to the point of trimming servers/layers

go watch the interview where they introduce layers. layers exist so that servers can hold many times more players than an unlayered realm, and when everyone quits in a few weeks they can remove layers, or phase 2 at the latest.

I’m pretty sure Blizzard doesn’t have an omnipotent crystal ball

no, magic isn’t real, but they do have tons and tons of data, so while everyone else was warning we needed more servers, blizzard knew much better how many will be needed

Look ma, I’m telling people what to do on the internets! I’m a big boy now!

i’m not telling anyone to do anything, i’m asking a question

lol

The queues aren’t going to get worse when layering is removed. There’s just going to be a ton more people in your view once it happens.

If your realm still has a queue at P2, it’ll be the same queue you’ve been dealing with all along.

A few weeks? Phase 2 is a few “months” away lol. You’re funny.

they promised to remove layers in a few weeks, before phase 2, because it has to be gone by phase 2 for world bosses

Because we are “tourists” and our return-home ticket burned up

Why do people think P2 is coming out so soon? I’d be surprised if we see it before Thanksgiving.
