Why have multiple accounts?

See the title. Why do people pay for multiple accounts when you can have 50 characters on one account? I get RAF and stuff, but I mean people who have multiple accounts regularly.

Edit: to clarify, I mean actively subscribing for multiple accounts at one time. Not having other accounts you don’t pay for at the same time.

It seems like multi-boxing, too many alts, and AH play are the main reasons after reading through here. Thanks fellas.

Well one time you could not have alliance and horde on same server. I wanted to play with with friends so had got two.

Cross faction AH mumbo jumbo, and I have also manufactured a handful of vanity guilds

Idk my other two accounts…just kinda appeared.

I’m not paying a sub on them and don’t use them. But one-day I had 2 other accounts on my log in list. :man_shrugging:

Because you can’t play more than one character on an account at a time. I saw a multiboxer recently playing Twenty. Hunters. at once, and not even well. So, they’re paying for 20 accounts a month. Eh, whatever floats their boats. I assume boats, because how can you show off with just one boat?

Because 50 is not enough lol.

I have 3 - might get my second one going if I decide to play classic so I can run both versions at the same time since you don’t appear to be able to on one account.

Also is handy to have a second account for a lot of AH play so you can play and still park a character at the auction house.

I play 5 at once because playing 1 would bore me to tears.

It’s a different game when you multibox. You get to have fun with class synergy and the added challenge in playing 5 is interesting. It introduces new problems and comes with added convenience.

Not really any of your business now is it? Even though this seems to be a thinly veiled I don’t like multiboxing thread, who cares if folks have more than one account?

I almost filled up my 50 characters on one, I needed more. I am an alt junkie.

I can use my higher leveled characters on one server to help my lower level characters through quests, dungeons, and rough areas of the game on another server.

I can roll up two proxy characters to give a friend two guild sigs.

Twice the mats when killing stuff and you need X amount on only one of the two characters, you get X amount faster if they both raid the corpse (non soulbound items).

Also, some people Multibox. I don’t really do that. I just switch between whichever character I need at the time.

Because they just do!

Well i have a Wow 1 and a WoW 2 on same acct and i also have a third seperate acct. Normally i just count that as 2.

Anyhow in the past before realm merges you could only have so many characters on 1 server. Which is how and why i ended up with 2 separate accounts. Also i had no idea you could make a new account under the same battle tag…I was still pretty new to the game.

So since the realm merges i payed for just 2 accounts…then after the pathfinder became a thing i got tired of having to that twice, so now i just play my 1 account, but use gold to pay for wow1 and wow2.

Also I AM an Altoholic!

I made an account for my ex girlfriend a couple years before we brokeup.
And got the recruit a friend bonus for my main account.

Long story short. She played alot and amassed several Million gold… we brokeuo I reclaimed my account and got free gold. =).

Best breakup revenge ever.

I do not understand the concept. One can never have too many alts.

Well, for one thing, until very recently, you could only have 18 of the 50 toons on one server. Having multiple accounts let you have 18 X however many accts.

OP, one reason ,before the 50 toons incentive,it was to support each other ,but now i’m completely confused to how this will pan out.

I used to multibox.

Of course. If they were playing well, they’d only need 2 or 3 hunters to beat other characters.
