HAHAHAHAH. You must be brand new to WoW. Thank you for the good laugh. It is funny how blinded hordies are, like this person. Hmmm let’s seee.
Most stories:
Horde based.
Raids based off the Horde and Horde storyline:
Horde: 2 (SoO and Uldir)
Alliance: 0
BfA ending all about the horde. I think they only had 1 Alliance person in the final cut scene and the rest all Horde.
WoD. Hmmm who are those people on the cover and mostly about? Oh yeah. The Horde. Who did we fight in the first raid of WoD? Blackhand.
Horde destroys the World Tree. Alliance basically lets it slide and then more horde story where the Alliance was trying to get the Undercity back but instead was all about Slyvanas and she ends up just destroying it.
Horde dominates pvp. AV was a map the Alliance actually had a chance at. Horde cried and BAM AV got nerfed.
Anytime Horde cried about anything that favored the Alliance got fixed. EMFH was nerfed asap.
Horde had the best racials for a VERY long time and never got nerfed or it took quite awhile.
DF launches and both sides couldn’t get to the Dragon Island to start the expansion. Hordes travel got fixed the same day. Alliance. Nope. Had to wait till the next day.
The list goes on but yeah, the Horde really get neglected. OMG Alliance is finally more about the story for once and not the Horde. So now the Hordies whine and moan because it isn’t all about them for once.
You want to defend racist comments, that’s on you, as if they can’t use the forums in their countries, or be immigrants with family there. This is worse than what the OP said.
yes… please continue to see us as just a bunch of cavemen. pay no mind to the weapons of mass destruction like the manabomb at theramore or the plague. don’t think about the advanced mechanical shredders that are systematically clearcutting Ashenvale, or the untold legions of iron horde war machines that are stowed away just waiting to be unleashed. don’t think about the superweapon that has never been fired in Azshara that is pointed directly at stormwind… Azhara, a zone we terraformed to look like the horde icon as an everlasting symbol of our might.
of course, it’s not like we need any of that anyway. just look at what we did to Darnassus with a couple of catapults, some oil, and a few matches…
Considering for most or acrually all of human history we’ve killed babies over defects, purity, gender, and lack of resources I’d say its safe to assume the humans in wow did too. Humans are defective Vykrul children after all that were cast out.
So the fact the horde don’t do it anymore is still a valid point to make.
Racist? There are countries on every continent that have people who live in huts, cottages, ramshackle buildings, etc. Hell even in the United States we have tons of people of every color in impoverished areas living in one room buildings made of scrap.
You accuse other people of racism but when everyone else hears “mud huts” and thinks about orcs you’re the one whose mind instantly jumps to racial minorities.
If there Ever chance to redo Orgrimmar again I want a war factory, war factory in valley of honnor For crafters with crafting table I want feel like factory worker forgeing weapons of war.
Case again blackrock foundry was so cool… I wish we can have something like that.
41 years as of TWW as it has been 41 years since the Dark Portal was opened for the first time. And it’s quite obvious from some of the things said within your post that you’re one of the “complain about lore I don’t read/pay attention to” players.
Honestly? Just take the plunge. I did in 2016 when I started over fresh with my current account and remained as a Horde main until 2023 when I was looking for a new guild and wanted to come back to Alliance as my primary faction.
There’s no rule saying you MUST play an orc if you go Horde. I’d suggest blood elves, tauren, or pandaren as your best starting points as an Alliance player wanting to transition to at least trying out the Horde. Work on unlocking the vulpera if that’s the race you really want to play. Thankfully, the rep requirement is no longer there, so just get to level 50 and start the unlock quest chain. Shouldn’t take more than an hour once you’re there.
And honestly? Give them a fair chance. Maybe try to quest in areas/expansions where the focus wasn’t an all out war with the Alliance? You might actually be surprised by some of the lore you’re clearly missing, especially considering that the Alliance hasn’t always been 100% in the right on some of the things they’ve done.
I’ll admit, it might not be easy, especially as the Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdom zones have firmly been stuck in their Cataclysm world state for nearly 14 years now, and many of the expansions pre-Shadowlands with very rare exception have at least some flavor of Horde versus Alliance at some point. It’s a big reason why I seriously hope Midnight comes with a world revamp on the original zones and that it wasn’t just Metzen hyping up a handful of zones that’ll get updates while the rest of the world stays in the Cata world state.
I have vulpera unlocked, but everywhere I go it’s “Me orc, me smash,” the leader of the faction is called the warchief, Orgrimmar is the main hub city (outside of Dornigal), all the quests in leveling zones are just Horde (mostly orcs) murdering things for fun or to prove how strong they are, any Horde architecture in expansions is just more spiky mud huts…
I’m constantly reminded of the fact that it’s the orc faction.
Back in WOTLK I played a lot of Horde, because my brother played Horde. I did so much questing, leveling alts, etc. I switched to Ally in the middle of Cata, only going back to Horde for a little while in Shadowlands to unlock and level a bunch of vulpera.
Like I love vulpera (and I enjoy goblins too, they’re silly), but I just can’t stand the Horde.
I mean, to each their own, but looking over more posts within the topic, I’m almost getting the sense that you’re complaining just to complain at this point, especially as you keep hitting the same talking points over and over, and oversimplify them. Therefore, I feel like you really don’t know the lore, nor pay attention to it.
Horde haven’t had a Warchief since the end of BfA for one. As far as other things go, I really do feel like some of it is partly related to much of the world being stuck in a Cataclysm world state with the respective expansion zones stuck in their own little bubbles.
And there’s also the fact that way too much lore is STILL essentially paywalled behind the various novels, comics, and other media outside of the games, but that’s an entirely different debate for another topic.
Look, the bottom line is both sides have their heroes and villains in EVERY race. Not all of them are going to be on the level of a Thrall, an Anduin, a Garrosh, or an Arthas, but they are out there. Both sides have done questionable things at various points, however I feel like marketing realizes/believes it’s easier to hand the Horde the villain ball than the Alliance, and with the way some Alliance players act over certain things, I get the sense it’s very hard to not alienate a good chunk of players.
Frankly? I’d like to see Yrel come back and be a major threat as that particular plot thread hasn’t been closed out yet, and as much as Alliance players might hate it, I’d actually like to see Turalyon get a nice firm grasp of the villain ball as I feel he’s way too black and white in his thinking and has shown small signs of someone we honestly need to keep an eye on.
I mean what’s the worst thing the Alliance has ever done? Other than it’s prince becoming a demonic pawn turned Necromancer king, killing off one of it’s entire nations, destabilizing the barrier between worlds and breaking the truce in Dalaran. Like almost nothing bad…
Looks around the lush green hills and beautiful mesas of Mulgore from Thunder Bluff
Uh… ok.
Highmountain is literally in the center of the zone in the middle of the river system and surrounded by lush farming land. It’s at the center of the flight path system for the entire zone as well. It’s been a central hub for the various High Mountain clans for generations. The central location is probably why it was built there in the first place. The only thing that ever held it back was the Drogbar aggression, and they aren’t even an issue any more after the defeat of Dargrul and the HM Drogbar joining the HM coalition. The whole zone is just as lush as many other areas with major cities in it. And it’s more than rich in mineral resources as well. Enough for Huln to have setup the special Anvil there.
