Why Ground Mounts?

I just finished my Trading Post Achievement for the month of September and got the Golden Crocolisk, a ground mount. Why a ground mount? Even levels 10s are flying.

For battlegrounds, no-fly zones like the Maw or TB, for RP, for being bored by the auction house and playing floor is lava.

Even then I’ll never use any ground mount. Flying mounts can walk on the ground as well, so what’s the point? They are strictly better and ground mounts are 100% completely useless.

Nothing beyond preference at that point; I mean, the Wondrous Wavewhisker mount allows flying, swim speed, and ground travel, so why use anything besides that?

I see plenty of flying mounts at the Dark Moon Faire and that’s a no fly zone.

Good for you. Other people will.

In a BG or no-fly zone they’re exactly the same.

I’m looking forward to dressing this guy up in the pirate mog and strutting around on my crocolisk.

You don’t have to use it, it’s literally a mount you get for free just for playing the game. Are we really at the point of complaining about that?

Trading post is full of mogs and collectibles, it clearly isn’t centred around min-maxing. If that isn’t your thing, cool, ignore it.

Using ground mounts might be dangerous for the dungeons. :robot::sweat_drops:

Although I still adore Jawcrawlers. :robot::thought_balloon:

Even when I get things I’ve earned, the mounts aren’t free, I like for them to be useful.

And some months the reward is a pet, whether you collect them or not.

Not everything is about you, Jan.

once upon a time, flying mounts needed wings or some other realistic way to fly. of course that’s out the window now for the most part, but Id rather not see flying alligators.

What exactly did you do to “earn” it?

I was planning to grind for the crocolisk but ended up unlocking it the other day.

I haven’t had a ton of time to play this month, I literally finished the campaign at the start of this week and then did some WQs and Delves. There’s still a good half a month left to earn it.

That’s a free mount. If you can get it while casually engaging with the game like I have, it’s free.

I completed the Trading Post achievement for the month of September, like other people do. It didn’t just magically appear in my mount collection.

Some times ground mounts are just more convenient. Other times I just like to ride along and see the country side.

Mounts Darkstar and plunges her head under water until she struggles and breathes no longer.

Drown mount.

Same here. At those time I use one of my smaller flying mounts, like the Discus. It’s the closes thing I have to a skate board.

Which you completed by doing what? Playing the expansion?

If you had to grind a resource through specific avenues, that would be one thing.

But Trading post can be achieved by engaging with pretty well any of the expansion’s content from pet battles to PvP to Questing and PvE.

If you weren’t planning to engage in any of that content anyway, then I’m not sure what to tell you.

Because a dragon crawling on the ground as fast as a horse running is weird as hell.

You do you.

I PvP, ground mounts will always be used. You can’t fly in every zone/instance.

In PvP areas that aren’t open world, you can’t fly at all.

You’re a level 80? Then you should know there are many many achievements in the game that don’t require grinding, just playing the game. Go to the Darkmoon Fair and ride a pony, that’s an achievement. Turn in 5 profession quest, another achievement .
Exploring another achievement. Daily fishing and cooking quests, another achievement. The list is endless.

In what world do you think that was a logical response to what he said lol
