Why greater drums? just add tinnitus

You are right, no one agrees with me. They all agree with the raging nerd who’s upset that Blizzard won’t bend to their will. Keep it up, it is amusing.

You do realize that it was Blizzard who said they didn’t like the meta and wanted to change it right?

I never post on the forums, but I just had to for this one. Seriously Blizzard, what are you thinking? Please explain how this is in any way a fix to the problem? If you’re keen for the drum meta to continue, just make the buff raid wide. Then each raid will only need 4-5 LW’s (which is fair representation). Why the need to implement a complicated non-fix that just makes things more annoying to something that is easily fixed? I just don’t understand some of the decisions coming out these days.

Same here, was looking forward to dropping LWing for JCing.

Ignore him, the dude botted his way through ranking and has the audacity to flame people over caring too much about the game.

This post isn’t about how they’re fixing the need to be mandatory as far as I can tell. This is a post to confirm a data mined item which they then go through explaining why they are doing this. Summary I got:

This has been a hot topic (End of statement)
Drums originally were 8 yards and became better at a later patch (End of statement)
Drums now have two variants (End of statement)
We’ve decided we don’t want drums to come in to the game in their 2.4.3 state, so instead of patching the existing item partway through we’ve decided to create a new item which drops from a 20man raid that you can learn to move from the pre & post 2.3 state. (End of statement)

There is nothing in here saying this is how they’re handling the mandatory feeling of drums.

Thank you! I will!

Genuinely feel sorry for Blizzard at times.

Community demands no changes, community demands changes, community demands whatever whim they feel like for an expansion about 5% of them played but don’t worry, they’re all experts.

Except this bit: “That led to the fond memories we all have of drum rotations as one of the added layers of teamwork in later Burning Crusade encounters.” This intimates that the general feeling within blizzard is that drum rotations were great and added teamwork!

Blizzard were the ones that wanted to change this. Now it seems like they are abandoning that effort without explanation or actually acknowledging that they are.

They did change it. The amount of change is to say:

We changed it to the time that people didnt think it was good so people dont take it.

Which never in the history of this game stopped people from getting power to raid on any levels. Not sure how blizzard hasnt learned this lesson in 16 years.

I think the adverse effects go over your head… Realize that players have evolved from TBC and particularly enjoy maximizing their characters. You may call it min-maxing I suppose but thats not the point either. When there is a clear advantageous gain by going Leatherworking for higher dps on the meters; a players choice may be affected in a way that instead of going Tailoring, the mage is going to go LWing now… How many people is this going to affect? Why should it affect anyone? Players shouldn’t be presented with that kind of choice because it’s so obvious that any player who cares about the meters is going to want to have an advantage over their peers. This isn’t even a matter of complaining it’s a matter of it’s effect on the community.

Edit: In other words… No one should feel like they have to play leatherworking to gain an advantage in dps meters, or boss kills.

I’m sickened by this company and their anti-subscriber mentality. :frowning:

“fond memories of drum rotations”

More like nightmares :joy:

I’ll withhold judgement until we get more info but at first glance this seems to make LW even more mandatory and the whole drum meta even worse than if nothing got changed. I’m really hoping there is more here so you won’t want 25 LWs per raid

Congrats, you have another profession slot available to take up with leatherworking.
+side is, primal strike gear is pretty good :stuck_out_tongue:

If you don’t want to use drums, don’t pick it.
Asking to nerf it because you don’t want to use it is so petty that makes me pity those that are still crying about it.

This shows about as little an understanding of why it’s a problem as the blue post.
