I’m not lying it is literally my experience. We are 10/15 currently and can kill Loatheb w/o world buffs.
That seems pretty clear from the fact they nerfed drums into the ground in Wrath.
Rival on Grobbulus cleared Naxx the second week it was out without a single world buff on a single raider for a single boss. Not saying world buffs are great or anything, but let’s not exaggerate
Oh, if you would have participated in the SL beta, this should not surprise anybody.
Got it so you’re not clearing Naxx. Not worth having this conversation then lol.
Killing it without doesn’t change the parroting “meta” constantly in regards to world buffs. It’s just ironic that most people die before they get to use them (not saying you do if you don’t get it to start). People CAN do it, there’s still this parroting of min/max culture and meta. That’s the problem. People know they can do it without, they still keep asking for it because they suck.
Because you don’t know what you’re talking about.
I’m not exaggerating, despite what you want to say. There is not a single guild on Whitemane right now that will accept you into their guild for Naxx clears if you’re not full raid buffing every week.
seriously, this maybe the dumbest thing I’ve seen come from Blizzard. Am I missing something here? They want to make leatherworking not feel mandatory by adding a new version of the drums that demands having leatherworking.
are they stupid, or am I?
No because you’re a moron who isn’t clearing the raid, your point is invalid lmao.
I don’t think you even understand what the change to drums are by reading your comments. You keep repeating that you don’t want change, which is fine with me. But the fact is, they are changing drums by making a new item that costs more mats and more LW skills just for the increased radius, and it’s their idea of making drums less mandatory, which doesn’t make any sense really.
Yeah I’m aware of the culture. And sometimes we do actually wipe before we even get to use them. It doesn’t matter we keep going, it builds character.
Point is it’s not required because sometimes people cant make the time to get them on top of farming consumes.
So in other words there is no plan to fix the drum meta at this point in time. It’s just to make LW undesirable towards the start, then have everyone join in the LW meta later on. I feel like adding a tinnitus debuff would do a better job at delivering on the statement made earlier. This just creates inconveniences imho.
Awful change, solves none of the issues and instead just makes it more annoying and yet required.
Possible solutions
- Remove leatherworking as a requirement to use the drums
- Make the drums buff raid wide instead of party
- Put a cooldown on drums so you don’t keep getting benefits past 1 person per group.
But instead you guys opted to make it just more of a hassle and think that would deter minmaxing tryhards when in reality 99% of them will still go leatherworking but just b*tch about it more.
Wait what, this doesn’t change the feeling of them being mandatory at all. In fact this keeps that same pain point and makes it even worse with how groups will have a new positional requirement and management in raid to contend with. This doesn’t deter people from requiring everyone to be a LW, this just makes it that much more painful.
Youtube guilds clearing naxx without world buffs lmao.
I can agree with this sentiment, I would prefer that they just change the range of the item when ZA launches instead of making a new pattern. But I greatly prefer this to “tinnitus” or raid-wide drums, which would be insane changes. It’s pretty sad that people can’t just enjoy the game as is and need professions to be changed to cater to them.
“neither are world buffs” but did you see the toxic meta that resulted because of it?
This doesn’t set out to fix the problem you were identifying (Everyone in the raid needing leatherworking), how did you guys come to the conclusion that this would actually fix anything?
Why can’t you just play with the tons of other people who share your opinion?
