I’ve been playing for over a decade and both IRL and online wow friends who were alliance have always answered the same the question “why did you go alliance” the answer has always been “my friends were alliance” so i have to ask who are these OG alliance who keep drawing in all these players? why on earth would you ever pick alliance and i mean it no offence.
Unironically casual players from what i’ve seen. Alliance fantasy was just too bland to keep people invested after a while I suppose
So its people IRL who play alliance alone or in a small group purely for the race that invite their irl friends to play. Everyone else shipped off to horde looks like
I just like the story. And the Draenei.
Because worgens look so bloody awesome. I’m xfering as we speak!
For the Alliance!
Straight up, been alliance since day 1. Made a gnome warlock in tbc and thought this was the coolest thing since sliced bread
Dwarf starting zone is my happy place.
You get tired of working for the bad guys after a while
WC3, I always like the orcs over humans. Gnomes and their engineering got me pulled into Alliance for WOW. Time goes, then it’s an attachment to the faction. Trading sides at this point would feel strange.
Because the horde sucks and so do all the horde races with their zug zugging and keking like half wits.
Some people prefer not to cavort with drag-knuckle hut dwellers and barbarous fiends.
Because Dwarves
Mostly do it because the Deeprun Tram. :3
Alliance have Human, the most popular race on earth. lol
But actually there’s no reason to go alliance thesedays considering massive faction imbalance. I only play Alliance because…you guessed it…my friends play on Alliance…
And when I asked my friends why they play on Alliance, and they also said their friends play on Alliance…goddanit.
Because I get to be Mechagnome! Woooooooo!
Better races, lore, cities imho.
Horde bores me. I started as Horde and was sold on the whole ragtag group of misfits who gotta come together in a cruel world primarily. Only race I actually liked aesthetically was Tauren. I started in late WOTLK so after Cata released I decided to try worgen. After going through their starting zone I started questioning things, like “Wait… if Horde is trying to survive why did they attack the Gilneans who didn’t really do anything?” Then I learned about draenei, the Horde trying to “survive against a cruel world” and found they are the primary reason for the “cruelty” in the first place from my perspective. Went Alliance and honestly loved everything about them, and haven’t looked back since really. I love everything Alliance.
I switched horde because my friend and cousin play Horde. I really didn’t want to. The Alliance character models and the cities look much better.
All mounts and gear look nice on humans, whereas some mounts (smaller horses) look silly with an orc, or some helmets/cowls look ridiculous on Tauren or Undead.
The racials are better too.
Why not?
I’m surely not going to play the side whose races are all based off farm yard animals from the county fair.
For the Alliance.
My hair.
It’s really the only reason. I have about 40 gnomes.
It really would not make sense for this character to stay in the Horde at all; especially after what occurred in Mists of Pandaria.
Not that it really makes a difference since I commonly find Dalaran to be the primary hub for over 13 years.
Imagine living in dirt huts.
