Why go alliance?

I like the Night Elves an their interaction with the Highborne. Don’t get me wrong, the Quel’dorei and Shal’dorei have their merits, but…

It’s not about playing a “race” so much as its playing a theme. There are people who just don’t want to be the “monster”. But, the problem crops up in the Horde players who refuse to understand that. They insist the Alliance is boring, when you know what, many people find playing the “monster” even more boring.

Depending on your tastes, either side can be boring.

Friend was a Dwarf Hunter. He got me into the game. Yeah, I tried Horde, but I could never truly find players there that matched what I was looking for. Alliance side, found many people with similar interests.

Elves and dwarves are my two favorite high fantasy races, and admittedly it’s hard for me to get into a fantasy world without either one or both of em.

Alliance has both in spades as I can technically play as three different subtypes of both. Granted I do have some horde toons (one of each race for completionism and cross faction goodies) but I am Alliance in heart and soul.

And you are welcome with open arms

maybe not everyone is fond of spiky architecture?

…hmmm… come to think of it, i recall horde complaining that they didn’t like their garrisons because there were too many spikes.

You can literally smell Orgrimmar through your monitor when you walk up in that place.

I like taverns, dwarves, and medieval castles. I don’t really care for the aesthetic of dirt and tusks. My friends and guild are pushing but as for me I’m happy to chip away a little at a time.

Nobody here actually plays the game it’s whatever.

You literally play a reskinned horde race.

Started as horde because the guys who got me into the game played horde. But I really wanted to play a paladin because D2 and tabletop D&D memories. So I switched to alliance a month after I started and never looked back. That was about a year after the game came out.

I’ve played both factions nearly an equal amount of total time going all the way back to vanilla.

I do like Alliance better though, for PvP especially. Shorter queue times for BGs and Alliance have been dominating this expansion so far.

I switched from Horde to Alliance because I finally got tired of the hot mess that the Horde continually is in the story. Never liked the mud hut and spikes aesthetic, and I only stuck around because my friends were Horde. As soon as the last friend stopped playing WoW, I transferred to Alliance and am much happier here!

I’ve played Alliance since shortly after the launch of BC. I’ve dabbled here and there with Horde, and for WoD my guild switched to Horde, so I can honestly say that I hate not being Alliance. The architecture for Alliance is better, the music in Alliance zones are better, and I like playing with the good guys. To many Horde quests just leave a bad taste in my mouth, especially those for the Forsaken. Hated my time as Horde, and the only reason I even still have a Horde character is to see the other side of the story. Although to be honest my highest Horde toon is sitting at 45.

never really felt the horde. hate their look, their cities, the voices, everything about them.

Now alliance, there is a faction i could get behind. Walls you could set your watch too.

Worgens look sweet, stormwind is easier to navigate, never liked slyvanas, and had less toxic experiences on alliance.

Gnomes are alliance. :man_shrugging:

Also I don’t like the feel of any of the Horde cities or most horde zones. The battlegrounds are on the wrong side. And I’m not attached to my horde characters.

I’m probably one.

Playing Horde just exhausts me for some reason. I have Horde characters, but any time I log onto them I just instantly lose all enthusiasm to play. I just want to log off and take a nap, and lose any drive to play for days and days. I couldn’t even say what it is that makes me feel this way. Sure, Orgrimmar is ugly and unpleasant, but honestly, sometimes I log in somewhere like Silvermoon, or even Dalaran, and feel that same sense of immediate fatigue.
