Why fomo achiev with secrest?

Wait there’s been an event on?

Rip been playing Baldur’s Gate 3 didn’t know it was on hope I didn’t miss anything cool :dracthyr_nervous_animated:

Well yeah I don’t get the choice either as for some folk they’re either sleeping or at work when the window’s open but I’m not 100% on that. In other news are people still chasing after the parts for the mount or would I be out of luck if I start hunting as each piece except maybe the third requires 3+ people to obtain the part

Is a possibly free alpaca mount for 14 days of secrets count as cool? Other than that it’s hunting down bags hidden all over the world and also hunting down three parts for a mount and putting it together with that new forge people thought was for later crafting recipes. Also a chance of a detective hat, title, and if you find those bags a dog pet wearing a detective hat

Yeah, if they wanted to give an extra FoS reward to the people that did it when it was current, they could have just had the FoS be part of crafting the mount but only within the first 24-48 hours, after that it would just be the mount but no FoS.

Seems like a stupid ploy to get us to stay online longer for no good reason.

Ah yes. Cherry pick the post and be deliberately obtuse.

Of course not everyone, however most can. And my post was also not in response to you.
Regardless, you can’t squeeze 5 minutes in just to get the feat? I’ve seen many get it by just BEING in the town upon completion.

You don’t need the parts for the feat. You can literally afk in town while the event is going on and get credit.
As for the parts, you don’t need to get them now, but it’s a lot easier while people are farming.
In total, you are looking at about 20 minutes total to get all 3 parts.

And yes, people are actively doing this still. You shouldn’t have any trouble getting it done.

First occurrence I knew about was at 3am CEST, at 7am I was already on the commute, now I’m at work.

6 occurrences in a 20-hour time window is just not enough.

sorry this happen :frowning:

I know they wanted the rest of the stuff to be global launch, but there wasn’t really anything “secret” about the arcane forge step here so I don’t understand why they didn’t separate the timings for NA and EU. It was already a realm-specific event instead of region-wide too.

Trust me, two expansions from now there will be some really salty player on GD that will dismiss criticisms about the game because “lololol you dont even have that FoS you scrub you dont even play the game stoopid!”

Good bad, not sure. I just think the community won’t like a nothing feat they can still miss easily. To me, achieves often break fourth wall, so there should be a good reason for this and this one does’t exactly scream 20th anniversary or something high quality.

“Participated in empowering the Arcane Forge in Valdrakken during the Secrets of Azeroth Event”

The rest of Secrets of Azeroth was generously set up to not be FOMO and can be completed later. But not this weird little feat?

Just too weird to explain it’s inclusion. So why do it?

Feels pretty crappy to put in a 24 hour event without a heads-up.

As long as you know about it.

That’s the problem: unless you check wowhead multiple times a day EVERY DAY, you wouldn’t have known about this 24 hour event.

*20 hour event. Due to happening every 4 hours, the last occurrence happened 20 hours after the first.

This was my issue with it. I did it yesterday and there was way less people around than I expected. I think if they had announced at the beginning about the FoS then more people would have done it even if it still had the 24 hour timer. I only knew about it because I saw wowhead tweet or else I would have missed it entirely.

Just found out about this and now it’s too late. Lovely, thank you Blizzard.

Saw people talking about it, here.
Alerted my guild.
A bunch of us got the achievement, last night.

This is dumb.

the event took like 15 minutes tops.

Why does that matter? Nobody is complaining about how long it takes, they’re upset that there was no notice about the event.

i was responding specifically to the person who said

To know about the event, you had to:

  • Be logged into WoW, or
  • Be checking wowhead regularly, or
  • Be checking the WoW forums regularly

So yes, this is a cheap ploy to get people to spend more of their time with WoW.

You don’t make WoW a crucial aspect of your daily life? Well, no surprise limited-time FoS for you!
