This raid was designed as a gear catchup for newer players to get into MC, so they can get into BWL
It’s less time consuming than MC and while it has more mechanics than MC, its vastly easier.
The only power creep is from the enchants and class trinkets/neck
You could technically phase lock the enchants as well, as they have with other professions enchants. that cuts out the power creep somewhat.
They released WSG and locked away all its rep rewards till phase 3 and phase 5
It’s a catchup mechanic, for the people that can’t clear MC (LOLOL). Clearly it isn’t needed in the era where everyone can easily clear MC.

ZG is better than MC. People would never run MC if ZG comes out early.
It’s not a catch up for MC, it’s a catch up for AQ. Gear and enchants from ZG will be on par, and even ahead, of BWL gear.
Zg gear is ridiculous. Bordering on naxx quality. It was a catch up mechanic.
It wasn’t because cant clear MC. But it was a catch up for newer players to get geared faster to do AQ BWl.
Which is why it’s funny people cry about catch up gear TBC on.
What idiot thinks ZG is an MC catch up raid? lol. Even 15 years ago people cleared MC with dungeon blues, ZG is for getting BWL/AQ40 ready faster.
