OK I’ve seen a lot of arguments about this of late it feels like it’s one of these things that every couple of months or so they’re stirring about it and then it comes back down.
And well I’m throwing my hat in the ring.
I’m going to go over the arguments I hear against it and why I don’t agree personally I think they’re silly.
1 The developers didn’t design the raids around dual speck So it shouldn’t be in/ I want the old TBC From 2007.
OK 1st things 1st I’m sorry to burst your bubble but that’s never going to Happen For 2 reasons We are not the same player base we were back in 2007 Is any amount of information add ons and what we know now is 100% different.
As far as design yeah it wasn’t design around is thing around everyone knowing what their best and slight and leather working being a permanent DPS increase either but here we are And I know because I’ve watched interviews on it Kevin Jordan himself said the same thing about world buffs.
And the same thing with leather working they never involved about the idea of people being Is able to stack them so that argument doesn’t work.
The only way for that to work is for everyone to forget everything they know informationalize no information wise and just the way they play games in general.
I’m trying to not write a book here so I’ll stop there but you get my point.
2 If they put in dual spec all the hybrid builds that aren’t metaren’t meta no one’s gonna want to Take/ If people had dual spec it would give people more of an excuse to wanna take gear further off specs.
I’m putting those 2 together because they vary are somewhere points and is our points end is very short point one if someone’s gonna ninja Dual spec is not going to be the thing that makes it OK or unokay for that person. And secondly nobody’s going to take those unviable specs anyway.
Is speaking from somebody as a tank if I’m raining a heroic if I see something like a smite priest Nobody is going to want to take you anyway because you’re not doing any is not doing any job well. Dual spec isn’t going to help you justify thit’s justified that it’s not going to matter.
And one final thing on the loot how many raids drop something ideally for everybody outside of the 1st 1.
I mean really I just I hear stories all the time about people having to deal eager because literally nobody needs it This really so I’m sorry that’s silly.
3 The game needs a gold sink Is to prevent golden flation so the market doesn’t go crazy/ If they put dual speck in what else will people try and justify.
OK with the whole gold thing this is the only actual somewhat justifiable point however however here’s the thing it’s already destroyed.
The 50 gold respect is only going to hurt the people that you don’t want it to hurt these people with hundreds of thousands of gold if they even respect at all do you really think they’re going to care.
No they’re not and the people that maybe would have wanted to try pvp Just for fun and if you play a healer or a tank Raise his hand.
Question absolutely sucks it’s a probably a little better as a tank but I can say big for every single healer friend I’ve ever talked to.
It’s it’s bad it’s it’s really bad the quest as a healer And the argument that you’re always going to have someone with you is silly especially with the game dying.
On top of that if you tell me OK to get into PVP you have to do this huge grind to get gear oh on top of that you also have to pay 50 gold per respect just to jump in.
My answer to that is nope I’m not even bothering then it looks like kind of some fun but honestly it’s not worth that farming up a gear set I can live with that that’s not too bad.
Having to respect for every single time I want APVP yeah Not worth it. As far as what else they could implement yeah you could make that argument with anything.
The same faction battlegrounds in my opinion is a way bigger change than dual spec is but I also will completely comm it’s better for the game.
2 and a 1/2 hour cue times for one faction is ridiculous yeah it’s a big change but it’s also needed.
On top of that I would argue anything that could possibly get people to stay in the game is a good thing at this point.
So again I say silly argument.
4 Dual spec destroys class identity and Is meaningful choice.
This is probably the silliest argument I hear OK is immune I hear OK1 if I’m a protection paladin just because somebody would have the ability to switch to a protection palatin doesn’t make me less of a protection paladin.
Too it’s not class identity you’re talking about its speck identity of anything as for meaningful choice how the heck is a meaningful choice when most players most will just look up a guide.
The information’s out there I mean again most people are just gonna Google class guide class information.
And generally One to Specs For example rogue For PVE your combat, For PVP your subtlety Unless you have war glades.
Warlock your dynamic sacrifice Is shadow bolt For PVE And your sls for pvp.
If I’m a Warrior no matter what speck I am I still have a rage bar I still have heroic strike I hope still have thunder clap.
A paladin I still have divine shield no matter what speck I am I still have holy light no matter what speck I am and the list goes on.
Those are the abilities that define your class not your speck Is this weird date keeping of is being of supposed class identity I’m sorry just doesn’t exist for most players.
I’ve never talked to a single person that’s ever said to me oh yeah because I’m the protection paladin. Or shadow praise That makes me so much different from that other priest even though they can respect and do the same exact thing.
Yes there are differences with gear however however it’s not a huge difference And yes obviously a healing priest is going to do better healing than a shadow priest and they’re going to do better DPS than the healing priest that’s obvious.
But it doesn’t work as an added point just because dual speck is added you don’t go from being able to be a tank to ADP S you’re not going to be the top DPS just because you have dual speck.
If I’m a rep palli I’m not out DPS in a warlock Maybe there would be a situation but if I kind of Is weird situation that possibly could happen maybe But if that’s happening realistically there’s something really wrong of that happens or they’re having bad Internet issues.
But again you get my point Anyway those are my reasons why the arguments for dull speck are silly.
On top of that let’s talk about the good points of it it may encourage people to PVP more It may encourage people to actually try out tanking.
It’s because this is something that a lot of people may not know Is in wrath at least on my server after dual respect was implemented.
There was a lot more people trying out healing and tanking Including myself I know that was the reason why I did it.
I can only speak for my server but that was my experience Anyway those are my points and reasons why I say.
