Pvp in MMOrpgs are never balanced and will never be
The Rpg factor of the game where every class has a niche tends to break it . You would have to create 2 separate games one just for pvp never happening
Moreover Wow is a pve centric game, I get all my pvp fix in actual pvp focused games like mobas ,fps and real life encounters
Simply put, Bfa is awful for pvp and generally speaking, pvp does require you to perform better and that’s something most of today’s wow playerbase despises (lol yep).
It’s gotten really questionable in Bfa though, you can be a destro or havoc dh and how you perform won’t really matter that much.
Maybe someone should just ask, “Why SHOULD you pvp?”
When the only answer is, “for fun,” they’ve conceded that they agree it is pointless outside of casual enjoyment.
Why do you raid or M+? For rewards. To PvP, you have to do all of it if you want rewards(upgrades). They’ve turned PvE into more of a casual system than PvP.
Log on, do your M+, wait for raid, boom done. Come back later for your chest.
Want to PvP? Go do M+ and raid, do your ten games, wait for your RNG chests to give you something that isn’t the same piece you have gotten the last 10 times.
PvP is a pointless treadmill with broken classes and some of the worst balance ever. All while getting spoonfed crap like Seething Shore because they removed the blacklist feature.
I do PvP, but I still think it’s stupid just how good those essences are for PvE. Doing them on my characters I’m not confident PvPing on is pure hell.
And before anyone says it, yes, I think it’s dumb that some PvE items are prerequisite to be competitive in PvP, as well.
PVP requires a fair bit of time and effort to learn what every class can do, what class combinations work well, how to deal with cooldowns, teammates, etc.
Right now, I’m not willing to put in the time required for proficiency. Maybe some day I’ll pick it up again, but really not much reason to do so currently.
Rogue mage can literally 100-0 a healer w no trinket in a Kidney garotte if no one peels for that healer
Blizz does a bad job at showing players ideal stats, talents, ect for pvp in game. All information has to be found outside the game via twitch or sites like skill capped
As someone who used to PvP a lot and misses MoP PvP hugely my opinion is War Mode has done more bad for PvP than good.
It’s caused more people who ordinarily wouldn’t PvP, and probably don’t want to PvP, to turn it on for the extra rewards. People are also more likely, especially if they don’t want to PvP, to just group up to get it done quickly so they can turn WM off again which is why there’s so much 5v1 sorta stuff happening.
That combined with a large portion if not the majority of peoples damage coming from necklace actives and procs, azerite armor traits and trinket procs it just feels so rng heavy and bad. It’s no fun say outplaying a rogue and then getting 100-0 in a single kidney shot because they got lucky with a bunch of procs.
