Why don’t do you PvP?

I don’t move fast enough and get slaughtered. Besides I got everything I ever wanted from pvp a long time ago.

Really, CRZ killed WPvP for me. I primarily WPvP’d by hunting players that caused problems like ganking new players, I saw it as defending my server and I knew the usual suspects and they knew me.

I had a dude threaten to camp an interview for our guild that was meant to promote RP. They decided to bring 40-60 players and told us to leave our RP base and have the interview in the Garrison. Which I refused and we did the same interview later.

I’ve come to terms that nobody is going to dictate what I’m allowed to do in game. But it’s interactions like that that are more destructive to the overall game rather than trying to help it grow.

…other PvP’ers.

I used to tolerate AV when I could get PvP gear that worked as well for PvE, but that’s no longer the case so there’s no longer a reason for me to bother.

World PvP? Not a chance. See the first line above.

Agreed. Though, fortunately, the camping crews tend not to be the most creative people, as is evident by their often shortsighted, anger- or machismo-motivated behaviour.

I mean, if I see that guy who threatened me again, I’m not going to act differently. If he camps me, I’ll just log on to my Horde toon and take all his quest objectives while he’s busy fighting mobs. I can be “nice”, too

I would only recommend pvp to a casual if I wanted them to quit the game.

BFA is a truly horrible expansion for pvp. It has the least amount of balance I have seen in a while. It does not help that casuals are completely useless in pvp, but even in bis mythic gear you can still get 1 shot.

I could see that. I’ve heard the same thing from friends which used to PvP. With CRZ I wish you luck on that hunt.

because:

  • fire mages in 8/10 of my matches on arena
  • fire mages in 10/10 of my matches on rbg
  • corruption system doing the funny oneshot mechanic
  • dhs and their existence (dodge everything, rain from above, mobility, insane dps)
I managed to get 2k this season and I stopped, I just play rbgs with guildies, we’re not so good (1600-1700) but we have a lot of fun

Let’s just hope I appear in the correct shard…

I have…few problems with DHs. Aside from massive ilvl discrepancies they’ve been fairly easy for me to lock down. Fire mages with lots of haste are deadly, though. Unbelievably so.

That would require them to be sensible.

Now, as to why I haven’t been pvping, it’s mostly that it’s further down on my list of things I could do than some other activities. It’s not just pvp that’s taken a hit, I’ve still not finished both sides of the story (and got those mounts).

because PvP should go back to scaling gear from WoD.

I can’t stand pvping right now with people who have more time in the world to farm the endless treadmill of WoW gearing.

There’s too many avenues to go down to just have fun.

Azerite Neck, Essences, Corruptions, Gear BiS, Azerite Trait grinding to get the proper BiS traits for DPS/Healing, etc.

Then add to that the atrocity of random BG’s, I cannot play with people who are that terrible anymore. It was never this bad years ago. Losing is not even fun when you’re getting curb stomped on the regular.

My fix for PvP:

scaled pvp gear that levels to a specific iLvl (like WoD did)
no pve gear allowed at all (pvp gear or you’re playing naked)
rating brackets for randoms (if you have a 2000+ rating, then you want to random BG you get put against others of your rating)

Because I play this game to leave real life behind, relax and have fun. Interaction with RL gamres in competitive situations do not support these goals.

Because I’m tired of my endgame content since Wrath - unrated pvp - being treated like a punching bag for dungeon speed runners. No other group of players is treated like a punching bag for not doing more coordinated content.

WoD did it best. Have a minimum and maximum ilvl cap that people get scaled to, regardless of what they are wearing.

All pve effects disabled in pvp.

All pvp gear of less use in pve due to something like resilience or pvp power in the stat budget, so that pvp gear is best for pvp and pve best for pve.

Top pvp ilvl achievable through unrated pvp, just at a slower rate than rated pvp.

Do that and my sub would never lapse. As is? Nope, better things to do than world quests.

Personally I would also prefer they remove the faction divide to reduce queues, but I can live without that.

To answer your question. I totally suck at it. I cannot fight my way out of a wet paper bag.

pvp vendors(It really is that simple).

When you kill someone in PvP they don’t drop loot

Not strictly true. Bounties do drop loot. But for the majority, yeah.

Or ponder:

What if there was an actual set of pieces of gear specifically designed for pvp that had stats that would only work in warmode or other pvp activities? That you purchased with currency earned in pvp. That could be improved over time as you levelled.

That might tempt me back into what is currently a rather tedious activity.
