Why don’t do you PvP?

If “speaking facts” means you’re using that as an excuse to trash someone, then it is.

I had my fill of PvPers during the Mists cloak quests - I could only manage the PvP portions by disabling all the chat. And it was still like eating glass and nails.

Because since Legion, it has been horrible. It started to go bad in WoD but the drastic changes took place in Legion and beyond.
All but a couple of the maps suck, coupled with no vendors, AND the class design is a dumpster fire…
Pruning and homogenization during the RNG treadmill have made it unbearable.

I did casual PvP. In Legion they eliminated any meaningful reward from casual PvP. So, why bother?

There’s already too much for me to do. A decent portion of my playtime is spent trying to acquire mounts, because they’re awesome. That includes Island Expeditions, old content Raids, and all the current rare spawn sites. Inbetween / during that I partake in all the appropriate dailies, which spans over 5 zones. Plus the WQ’s and mount quests. I still have the Legion dailies for the 4 Hatchling’s.

I just finished most of the story and dungeon quests, and haven’t even done any of the BFA raids yet. I am also still doing the visions, although that ties in with the dailies.

Prior to that I was farming for pets, and I like getting toys as well. I have also quit and came back to this game a few times. When I came back last summer for BFA, the last time I played was in Pandaria and this account is new. Had a lot of catching up to do, and took my time with all the previous content that was missed.

PVP ceased to be interesting years ago when both factions started doing SWARMING’S instead of actual PVP.

The PVP community was warned having 20 people SWARM 1 or 2 people and then keeping them repeatedly dead would KILL PVP.

True PVP is fun, SWARMINGS are not and until the PVP community get rid of this practice. PVP will continue to be dead in Warcraft.

I’d be up for legit world PVP. However, as Tharnn said, swarming sort of killed it. camping quest areas with several others killing the same couple of people over and over again does not make you a pvper.

No vendors, no resilience or other PvP stats, declining population means no keyboard turners in arena.

Because I am horrible at it.

I used to love it but over time the amount of cc just wore me down. I don’t mind getting killed because the other guy was better or I just got in a bad spot and ran into a bunch of allies. But I could not stand getting killed without being able to even play my character.

Because 1 V (more than one) is not fun.

My PvP friends quit years ago, Legion templates soured me, and I got into a raid guild. Not sorry to miss BFAs sorry scene, but I’d like to get back into it with shadowlands.

used to

but then i stopped playing as much and decided to do other things with my time. really dig resto pvp but… ehhhh, i could do alt stuff or xmog or other stuff with my game time instead.

It’s simple, for me. I don’t find being ganked by groups of people with no real chance to fight back enjoyable. I don’t find corpse camping fun. I don’t care for having my quest interrupted for who knows how long as the aforementioned things occur. It’s not the pvp, it’s the people and how they do it.

And then having people say “Oh, just go do something else!”

Yeah, defeats the purpose of the questing in the first place.

BGs exist, if I get the itch to PvP, I’ll go there.

It’s probably the nose dive in quality that the PvP systems took after WoD.

I disagree. And this is from a player who did a lot of swarming back in MoP. Big shock I know. An example of this is the times that we went to the PvP vendors with a full raid of players.

It became a war of escalation. Which was a ton of fun because we knew opposition would eventually respond and they indeed pushed us out of the vendors. At that point we fought another guild and then packed up and went home.

The issue isn’t swarming itself. The issue comes when said swarming is meant to negate all interest in PvP. If a guild has 80 players in a specific area, then it’s demoralizing because of the amount of lag will come with it. But if you were harrassing the same area with like 20-30 players, you’d eventually get the fight you’re looking for which could end up in some fun exchanges.

Problem is there’s too many big heads on both factions who’re more concerned about winning opposed to having a quality fight.

If PvPing makes someone angry, they shouldn’t be pvping. It can be a fun, wholesome activity, just like any sport. And just like any sport, practicing good sportsmanship is a long-term benefit for yourself as much as it is others, because when other people are having fun, they keep PvPing. When faced with gross misconduct, some people shy away who otherwise wouldn’t.

In other words, some of us who pvp don’t quite like the nasty people either, no matter whose side they’re on. (Losing) in PvP is not something worth getting upset over.

This ties into the above. I’ve had someone threaten to camp me for four hours because I cheap shotted them while they were doing a world boss. Those sort of intimidation tactics don’t really work on me, because I now view this scenario as an interesting challenge, but they can and do make other players quit pvp entirely.

I can’t stand all the jumping around

I get too angry and I don’t want that when I play video games.

I don’t mind pvp here and there but man has this expansion been trying. The main thing that has been turning me off is people coming in way undergeared, like ilevel 289. Do less damage than a wet noodle and take less hits than a wet noodle can.
