After years of playing World of Warcraft and Diablo IV, the contrast between their armor and mount designs is glaring. Diablo IV has some of the most breathtaking armor and mounts in any game, with intricate details and striking aesthetics. So why hasn’t Blizzard brought that same level of visual excellence to WoW? Frankly, WoW’s armor designs often look outdated and lackluster in comparison. Blizzard should consider having the Diablo IV art team work their magic on WoW to elevate its armor and mount designs to the same stunning standard.
This guy swipes for sure
I am uncertain if this is serious or trolling
Hell even diablo 3’s armor looks better. I am always impressed with the the appearances you can achieve in that old game. Even with a limited recolor system in place.
OP is right and totally logical. Thank you for sure a interesting and well thought out post.
Wow is 20 years old brother. Why does this game from 2023 look better than wow!?
Combine both games - World of Diablo
That was legion
Diablo is 28 years old… 29 this December.
WoW definitely looks better than diablo armor then
Op mentioned diablo 4. Diablo 4 came out in 2023. Wow came out in nov 2004.
Very obvious answer to this
diablol amirite?
I am not saying that they should but technically they could throw up a portal somewhere that leads to the world of Sanctuary. The settings COULD be merged.
Because World of Warcraft uses an unsophisticated potato-based game engine held together with spit wads and chewing gum.
Didnt wow start as a warcraft3 mod? To think a game this old has had code and stuff added to it for 20 years. Sheeesh
Good question, I think it might be that WoW has soooo many appearances that making them all excellent would be harder, in D4 I think there are like 600 or so appearances, with recolors that are good, however WoW might have 600 chest pieces for a single armor type
Put simply? It’d take hiring so many more people to work exclusively on churning out old armor redone with the new dye system they’re working on for housing.
We could absolutely see new armor going forward that looks better as they upgrade the system, the problem is it won’t really go with anything pre-Midnight without clashing on outdated textures and facets.
The only way they could really “fix” that would be to just not release new armor per expansion as they work retroactively from Vanilla to TWW redoing old sets as HD and with dye channels.
Now, dunno about your priorities, but I’d maybe be fine with this.
Diablo four looks better because it’s designed around a very specific environment and that game doesn’t have nearly the number of complex variables that World of Warcraft does. That armor only has to look good from four angles. Our armor has to look good from 360°.
I dunno, I look rather cool. ![]()
