That makes sense.
Almost everything in WoW is based off of some type of mythology or history or old tales. They just give it their own twist.

I have always assumed it was because her model was based on fertility statues that were common among early tribal groups before more formalized religions took over.
You can google these to see pictures and they are often shaped this way but without the monstrous face, in fact most had no face at all.
She’s ONE mineral I can easily distinguish by the cleavage, ifyouknowwhatImean.

Her Daughter was able to breed with a Keeper of the Grove and she did mention having once loved so she is quite capable of breeding and presumably nursing her babies.
I would deem her and her fellow Elemental Lords as being Mammals composed of the Elements they embody. Flamewakers are a completely fleshy Fire Elemental species so the Elementals being filled with Mammals, Avians, Amphibians, Fish and Reptiles along with True Elementals is unsurprising.
They are ballast to balance her sustained fart blast based levitation (ever wonder why earth elementals have no nose?)
The fact they drifted so far from this I think is 90% of what is wrong with the Shadowlands story. It is what let them give Ardenweald character without having to write another book.
I’m still amazed they managed to get a The Witcher reference in there…
