Why does the dungeon finder take so long?

Isn’t Cata popular right now?

Why is it taking 30-40 minutes to find a dungeon group?

Isn’t everybody running dungeons right now?

More dps than there are tanks and healers available.

That still wouldn’t explain 30-40 mins.

There’s TONS of tanks and healers right now.

It’s not like only 4 tanks every 15 minutes queue up lol.

Clearly there isn’t if tanks and healers have near insta queues and dps have 20+ minute queues lol.

How is this topic still being questioned by people. It’s been the same way since LFD first came out in OG wrath. You play a dps spec, you have long queue times. Welcome to WoW

People are still leveling, and they’re doing it via questing because it’s way more efficient than dungeon grinding with comparable exp and significantly more reputation

You don’t understand that it’s not about how many people, but it’s about the ratio of dps to healers/tanks. I’m sure there must be over 10 dps queueing for each tank.

I have a better question… Why does it take so long with a full group?

Yet no guilds are looking for tanks.

Funny how that works.

Because each raid fight needs two tanks and with dual spec you can have all 15 warrior in your guild off spec as a tank now? Crazy concept I know seeing as you’re a pure DPS and all.

it’s because there are too many of you, and not enough of them.

“Average wait time”

15 minutes

“Time in queue”

38 minutes

Awesome…

Yep, and many of those guilds are probably just forming their own groups too to run dungeons. And tanks that use RDF, with their instant queues will gear faster and stop needing those dungeons faster. And in general RDF population will include casuals who don’t raid, and those must also skew towards DPS since it’s easier. It’s not difficult to conceive that the percentage of tanks in the RDF pool at any time is lower than their percentage in raids.

With all of that said my warlock is getting queues pop closer to 15 - 20 minutes than 30 most of the time. But I ran a lot of it during non peak hours.

Certainly the case with my guild, at least. Within the first few days we’ve all gotten sick of having dps trinkets jacked by tanks and cloth gear yanked by Druids, so now we’re just grouping up as much as possible

Because no one plays this game.

If you look at the recent information you can see how few people there are. You then need to realize that this is ALL players in the WORLD, across ALL versions of the game - Classic, Era, Retail, Hardcore, combined.

I would bet there are maybe 300-400k subscribers in NA region, maybe 150k in EU. Worldwide maybe 1 million at the most.

Then you need to realize that 60-70% of these are bots.

Maybe this is a horde problem? My dps ques on ally pop after like 10 mins

You’re off by 6.5 million

From level 15 thru 35+ I queue as priest for both DPS and Heals and wait about 2m UPTO 5m or so.

I’ve missed a couple queues but they are fast. About 20% of the time I’m DPS. Maybe 2 queues were 12+ min on Grob for 3am Monday.

Also I make friends with every tank and instant queue after every run. So each queue is really less. Just gotta get the ball rolling.

What you are reacting to is self inflicted pain. Get rekt.

80-84 queues are longer I’d guess because more people are questing for rep than dungeon leveling.

At 85 healer queues are nearly instant and we always get a satchel so far. Not many want to deal with it I guess.

Most people are not 85 and doing heroics yet.

Not everyone rushed to 85, nor does everyone have the raw time to do so.

Im 84.5 right now because RL has kept me busy.

Also the leveling rdf now has item level checks instead of just lvl. So even non heroics are not as easy to enter.

“BeLluLaR vIdEo” which was not subscribers. Nor were the sub numbers released anywhere at GDC or anywhere else since they stopped reporting the numbers.

There is a 0% chance that there are anywhere near that amount of subs.
