Why does the Alliance not even try to win AV anymore?

i dont play classic any more because its bad retail has 100% better bgs.

What blizzard should do is not alliance retail players post on the classic forums.

You miss every shot you donā€™t take. Too many horde do not want to put the least effort into trying.

The cave was moved back in TBC specifically due to captains being worth reinforcement points.

I think I have seen Emkay in a match or to. Only thing I hate about WsG itā€™s hard as a solo pug to get anything else other then a premade but when you do you actually have a fight. Not a rush, then GY camp.

Yeah, I havenā€™t solo queue for WSG much since last Tuesday when the meta switch. Before then we would get 3 out 10 games of premades. Not bad and just like it was in vanilla. But now its 9.9/10 games are premades.

I did queue into one last night cuz I needed one token for turn in and it was pug vs premade. Our team was pretty geared but w/o any healers we managed to kill them a bunch that they got mad and tried to camp us at GY. We just didnā€™t rez. lol

If you try a bunch now, youā€™ll probably get some pug v pug games since the stealth fix 2 days ago to prevent queue dodging.

Iā€™ve seen around 10 pug v pug games and 12-15 pug v premade games over the past 2 days since that fix.

Not ideal, but I mentioned in another thread that a lot more pugs are queuing Iā€™d assume since the horde queues are down to 4-5 minutes.

Some of us do. There are too many people who accept defeat already.

If I didnā€™t need honor to kinda keep up with the no-lifers. I would solo queue wsg more. I love wsg and ab and can play them all day long.

Ah yeah I understand, I quit ranking a few weeks ago, so Iā€™m just playing around 8-10 WSG for fun per day (AV queues are way too long so I stopped going there), was absolutely horrible the previous 2 weeks when Iā€™d meet 90% premades, but itā€™s a lot better the past 2 days.

This is just my take, but I think its that we just have different generations of players. Gaming in general, I find now, has shifted towards faster reward systems. Whereas in the olden days, it was more about difficulty or the challenge of the game (the reward was winning or even just putting up a good fight).

So imagine the people who grew up or started playing the faster reward system era now have no desire to put in effort they cannot see a direct payback for. However, this version of the game (Classic) now has people from the old era and new, and it just seems more of the newer era are among us or perhaps prefer it yet are from the older era.

Of course I am generalizing here, and not every one is like this from the newer era. I just think the stats on the matter are skewed in that direction for the player mass.

What I have found is the newer generation of players want instant gratification in the game they play. They donā€™t put in the work and a lot of games seem to be doing that now. Same with life, in that they expect to be making same pay or better then people that have been there 5, 10, 15 or more years. Understandable times have changed between when our parents did something, we did something and our kids and their kids are doing the same thing.

Yea, I imagine a player who got used to premades would still be mad even if they won every pug AV since 30 minute wins are worth sooo much less than 6-7 minute wins.

Why would anyone do AV except for honor per hour though? People who actually want PVP go do WSG

I am pretty positive on that.

What you dont get, is the bonus honor at the end for Bal being alive

No one gave a damn how Hph back in Vanilla we would kick your teeth in just for the lulz. Thatā€™s whatā€™s wrong with the Classic player base most of them are not real gamers. We didnt shy from a fight in Av, in fact we would all clash at the center like armies at war.

People donā€™t seem to realize that the AV we had for almost all of Vanilla was an entirely different map- literally, the design of the landscape was different, strong NPCs everywhere, mine fields, black lotus and rich thorium, more objectives and the summons/upgrades were massive parts of the strategy rather than just something that might happen at the end of a one sided game.

Itā€™d be like asking why we used to do well at AB but we arenā€™t able to win EotS.
