That’s another thing people always blame mercs. Every time I see people either give up throw games or talk trash i check and they are alliance not saying it doesnt happen but it’s always alliance
I’ve gotten ragewhispers for mercing to gear up my Vulpera alt. It’s incredible how quick to blame mercs people are. Even when the mercs are likely playing to win just the same.
Here’s a golden quote from a week and a half ago while I was in the middle of a WSG after doing an IOC, they must’ve been angry that I was trying to shotcall the game or something. Little do they realize that I -main- Alliance so I was already doing what they wanted:
[x] whispers: Why are doing Alliance bgs when you can win 24/7 in Horde bgs it makes no sense, we don’t care about your titles, acheves, mounts etc… do your main faction we don’t need Horde players making us lose more, also YOU talk way to much in our battlegrounds
[x] whispers: Stay on your mian faction motor mouth
to [x]: Who are you lol
[x] whispers: main* where u belong thanks
Oh, I must also add they pre-emptively ignored me on a level 1 throwaway toon. It’s people like this that are likely the reason Alliance lose a lot. Always quick to blame others, never themselves.
This has been an enlightening and entertaining thread lol. Am i just the unlucky horde player then? I feel like we lose most of our epic bgs. Winning Ashran is a miracle.
And I’m confused, what do you all mean alliance players get more Honor?
I know reading and comprehension might be hard for you. I never ONCE said its ALWAYS MERCS throwing games.
I’ve been playing classic tbc prepatch as horde and have pretty much a 100% winrate in AV and alliance keeps making AB groups that intentionally lose for marks. Feels good to not be that faction for a brief moment
Yup
It’s always “faction imbalance”, “the map”, “horde mercs”, “it was Karie talking too much”, or “_____ was a bad leader”, etc… never their own bad play/incompetence - usually the real reason for the loss.
So when Horde were losing AV pretty much 95% of the time years ago but winning Regular Bgs 80% of the time what was the reason?
Blizzard changed AV because of Horde tears not because they were better players. At the end of the day majority of Alliance have jumped ship to Horde…so who is the better faction?
The answer is Alliance…who jumped to Horde right? Wrong?
Well he does have one very good point: you do talk too damn much, lol.
Looked that way to me you derp. I mean typical alliance players always use that card
All alliance players ( not mercs ) get 50 percent extra honor in BG’s for being the less populated faction.
What were these changes to help Horde . As far as I can see , Horde wins AV both in Classic and Retail right now. And from tomm will be winning more in TBC Classic AV . With that Blood Elf OP racial , best of luck to any alliance doing PvP in TBC
Eh… I don’t really mind all the talking when I get Karie on my team. I enjoy it
When it’s Karie leading, and pugs actually follow the instructions, things tend to go well. When it’s Alliance pugs just doing their own thing, the match tends to go south.
You really only see Karie dominating/cluttering up the BG chat in the latter scenario.
And when he does complain in the chat he is merely pointing out to the pugs that they are bad, why they are bad, what they need to do, etc - and I 100% support his calling out of these pugs.
Believe me AV was an Alliance bg for years. You can’t compare nowadays because most of the sheep play horde. baaaa baaaa
Alright, well honestly I only had her in one of my epgs once. She called out a strat that was different from the usual Alliance pug thing and I at least was willing to go along with it just to do something different for a change. And we all know what happens when Alliance does the same thing over and over again…
So of course nobody listened, haha. I guess I more or less found it amusing that she was willing to go on and on with these folks…whereas I’m like, “meh…it’s Alliance”.
That it was. All we had to do was “rush RH” and it was gg.
Alliance doesn’t listen and is quick to give up.
Ran some BGs on my horde warrior only to log into this character and getting destroyed in Temple. We certainly had the killing potential (except my undergeared butt) just no one was going for the orbs. Whereas horde would grab orbs and then defend as needed.
Our team tried turning it around at the end but it was too late. Excuse me while I go make a horde rogue.
Believe it or not I have the same feeling playing Horde.
Last 40 Bg’s…9 wins and 31 losses.
Yep, I do keep track.
I think its merc mode. Players on both sides queue more often with low ilvl as alliance for faster queues and thus faster honor gear. This leads to a noticeable but not absolute gear disparity on average between alliance and horde.
Kind of a late response but i finally got a fancy pants statistical method called bootstrapping setup on my laptop to do some hypothesis testing.I could have used the traditional approach to do the exact same thing (i did both) but i wanted to try this method.
I did a 2-tail hypothesis test to see if the mean ilvl between alliance and horde were different. I sampled 68 horde players and 96 alliance players in epic bgs. The mean ilvl for horde was 193.6 and the alliance was 190.7. Using 10,000 bootstraps i got a P-value of 0.307 at a 95% confidence level (standard value) i was unable to show that the mean ilvls were different. To have shown statistical significance, i would have had generated a p-value of 0.025 or lower. The traditional approach generated a p-value of 0.288.
Short answer, merc and under geared players. Bad players.
