I struggle to keep up with tanks tbh
OG Bear Tank here. My druid however is retired. Main a Blood DK and a Brewmaster now.
Many of us that like to tank have stopped doing group content entirely and are now soloing delves.
Not only is it more relaxing to where we can move at our own pace but on top of that we don’t have to deal with the toxic player base.
My Troll Blood DK would like to wish you the best of luck in all your future endeavors. But until it gets more enjoyable to do group content this is where me and many others like myself will stay
It’s literally the easiest role in M+. By a lot.
Mutiple reasons.
1: CC changes have made it so punishable that 1 tank mishap or 1 DPS in anything above a 6 is likely a wipe unless the groups 620+… no one is but mythic raiders or people pushing 11+ keys nonstop with a group.
2: The +7 affix in keys is to awful that if the tank pulls to slow then 4 deaths in a +7 key=not timed. if the tank pulls to much and the group isnt playing 100% then bricked key.
3: The loot isnt worth it and the crest being moved to a +9 have killed mythics. the cap is also to small atm that once a player hits 90 they stop going. and if a player hits 616 then they can not gain anything unless they time 9s and yeah very few can due to changes.
4: Tanks are garbage atm unless you are a BDK. who can outheal mechanics and solo bosses if the group wipes no other tank can.
5: DPS are really bad this season and it shows. like i been seeing 610+ to 618 dps doing 300k while the tanks pushing 600-700k on the boss and that DPS isnt ccing as well and it forces the tank to do there job and his and its not fun and they just stop queing mythics.
6: healers right now unless they see a shaman they won’t join. Hpally is garbage in keys and please dont say oh but some have done 13s yeah they are also full BIS 620+ to 625. while a shaman with 2pc/4pc can go into a 10 and its a breeze due to there aoe healing output. rest healers atm lack this
7: Toxicity from DPS Players telling tanks there not doing enough dps or there pulling to small then pulling big and they wipe because DPS dont do there job and they get crapped on and kicked so like why bother?
8: Mythic+ are overtunned still badly. the aoe in these places at 8+ is just insane even with health pulls +a cd classes can get 1 tapped if they ain’t plate. Mobs have to much health/dmg in general
9: Keys are +10 above what they say so a +2 is a 12 a +8 is 18. this makes it crazy where in a Heroic ofthat dungeon you dont take any damage then going into a +2 it spikes up like 2000%
Overall mythic+ is very dead now and the sad thing is no one whos geared will que anything below a 9 because blizzard moved t3 crest to 9s they need to go back down to 6s or 7s.
Ways to fix it?
1: Lower gilded to +6 or +7.
2: Tone down the damage in anything 2 to 10 by like 25% overall. keep the health numbers they are fine but the damage is massive.
3: Remove the T7 Affix of deaths remove+15 sec to 5 sec and move +15 Seconds to like 13 +and higher keys it’s cleared the diehard players who push 17s 18s 19s etc want the challenge but with pugging this is a brick when 1 person dying a few times can brick a key
4: Up the crest cap per week from 90 t0 180.
5: Buff Tanks like seriously givem a flat 10-15% Damage reduction
6: Buff helers.
7: Change the New affix buff timer to 30 seconds to give more wiggle room in keys which makes them actually impactful to do.
Blood dk out healing content how? I struggle to keep them alive
They are not a good BDK then.
They are not rotating there cooldowns , they are not keeping cooldowns on CD like DRW should never be up. Marrowind should never be up.
Tombstone should be used on packs on pull for massive Burst damage as it procs bone explosive aoe/shatter.
Riunetap should be used per pack or pull.
Bonestone should be used on every large pack or bosses for the healing/Bone stack recharging.
Bloodboil should always be used with Consumption it currently deals a lot of damage and heals for an insane amount health.
Deathstrike should be used when they need a heal not on cooldown. only use it on CD when you have taken large hits or when you have nothing to do and you know it won’t get you killed.
A good BDK should outheal you in keys above a 5+ and higher keys they will likely outheal you just due to the health they can replenish with ease if they properly use cooldowns which most do not.
I should mention a BDK solo’d a +12 Ara last boss as his group wiped at 39% and he just soloed it last week.
Also some bosses are a joke as BDK such as the twins in threads. the tank mechanic where the group needs to soak with the tank guess what? AMS breaks it instantly. no tank mechanic. the 3rd boss? your AMS eats the orbs.
Last boss in Ara? your Deaths advance kills the pull in. last boss in grim? your AMS kills the AoE debuff from being applied to you or to 2 members in party if you spec it.
There a lot bosses like this where if they know what there doing they can bypass 80% of the mechanics and never need a healer.
ha this was in my run of m+2 dawn breaker when i didn’t follow the dps route while learning the dungeon.
the funny part is that in all that chaos , they still have time to type

Because most people want to DPS. There has always been an overabundance of DPS compared to healers and tanks.
San’lyan still bad?
Personally for me, I hate being useless outside of content that needs a tank. If i’m going to do quests and stuff I dont want to have 2 sets of gear in my bags when i have 129038120312983712 different items that you pick up naturally per hour so It’s 9099090990 times easier to just be dps.
You dont reallg need two sets of gear. Two sets of trinkets/weapons at most
no you do, theres almost no tanks and dps specs that want the same secondaries and enchants
Yes sadly the damage from other spec is just insane while the dmg on San’lyan is half of that spec and less survival.
Most tanks run the samd secondaries as there dps counterpart specs.
That sucks. I kinda dislike the extra button to push on the other hero spec i often forget about it
There is nothing wrong with tanking in WoW. There is something wrong with too many players in PUGs. People forget it’s supposed to be a team effort. It’s why I almost exclusively play solo now and I enjoy the game more than ever.
this 3 DPS/Tank combos use the same stats and enchants is a bit diff though like leg/chest enchants
That extra button is actually pretty insane as it causes marrowind to actually become a pretty nasty aoe and i’ve seen it crit for up to almost 1mil to 1.4m and on a big pull that is huge+ you get twice the stacks of bone shield due to it becoming an aoe.
