Why does it say im instance locked

For strict instance-based raids such as Molten Core in WoW Classic, you are saved the moment you walk into the instance. I posted the support article above.

Some raids will save you when you kill certain trash mobs.

As an example, when you kill the fire elemental before Rhyolith’s platform in heroic Firelands, it saves you.

why is prompting me to exit if im saved the moment i walked in ?

This is however Classic Vanilla and raid lockouts were changed a bit by then.

As I said before, when you walk in solo (without a group) it is asking if you want to continue with the existing raid ID you started with that trash farming group. Anyone in that group can continue with that same raid ID, as long as the rest of the group either has no lockout or the same raid ID.

that makes no sense "do you want to be saved ? if not click this button " (joins another raid) “sorry your saved to a raid”

Actually, that makes perfect sense.

To break it down:

  • When you enter Molten Core with a random group, you are saved to that version of the raid.
  • When you tried to run Molten Core with your guild, they are starting a fresh raid with no lockout.
  • Since you were already saved to a different Molten Core instance, you can’t join your guild. The game won’t let you enter because your raid ID doesn’t match theirs.

When you enter a saved raid solo, you are given the option to continue because you are the only person in your raid group. The game just assumes you want to continue with your saved version of the raid.

I’m not sure exactly how it works in classic, but generally you don’t get saved until a boss, or in some cases a lieutenant, is killed. The fact that its giving the 1 minute popup to be saved or leave usually means you have no active lockout.

thank you battle

In Classic, you are saved immediately since Classic Raids are strict instance-based lockouts. It doesn’t seem to matter if a boss is killed, you’re saved to that raid ID.

The only way to verify for sure is to answer what someone else asked earlier: does your /raidinfo say you have an active molten core lockout?

yes it does and thats bs

Well, you got saved. No MC for you until Tuesday unless you have an alt.

Not commenting on how I think it should be, just commenting on how it is.

change the entire ranking system but cant fix stuff like this

Again, there is nothing to “fix”. This is the way it was when Classic was current, and it is working as intended. It is not a bug or anything of that nature.

If you would like to make the suggestion to have this changed, you’ll want to post in WoW Classic General Discussion

was the ranking system bugged ?

they changed the ranking system why not change stuff like this is that better wording

The ranking system was completely changed because of how unhealthy it was and the decrease in Classic population as servers progressed to TBC and WotLK.

they still changed it
and i asked if it was bugged
and ui belive you basically said in a bunch of words that they fixed the ranking system

Because it needed to be changed. Without enough participants players wouldn’t have been able to reach Rank 14.

Unfortunately, that was all part of #NoChanges vs. #Changes. The raids and lockout system were kept true to the original version.

Regardless of the fact as to whether they changed something in Classic or not, the Customer Support forum isn’t the place for such a debate. You’ll want the WoW Classic General Discussion for that.

At this point, that would be your only option. I will say though, this thread does have a high potential to turn circular.
