Honestly, as long as the subraces can just be picked from the core races, and we just remove the factions in the process, making the PVP system sort of “everyone is against everyone”. Then most of the problems would be solved, well, sort off.
People wouldn’t be complaining about faction inbalancing, nor would there be threads like these… Instead, the only threads there will be is “people killed me in Warmode”
No one said I have to be nice. I didn’t appreciate it, so I made sure he understood it fully. No point in masking it.
I don’t think the lore is as bad as some people like to say, previous villains and storylines had the benefit of their backstories being part of an rts game with pandaria being mostly an exception.
But they locked way to much lore behind books this xpac, like way to much.
But yet when people talk about lore about lei shen and a few others, most of it is from books.
I wonder how war mode would work then though. Without factions, would it be an entire free for all?

This is why I never joined any of the discords.
(Well, this and I’m lazy and I can barely manage to check in on my own guild’s discord once in a blue moon, honestly.)
The issue with this xpac, besides the insane scope of it (my guy has an axe, why the crap is he fighting a dude whose powers are the underpinning of existence?), imo, is that it doesn’t tie in to the setting we’ve been playing in for decades.
Like, imagine if it had turned out we’d made Arthas insanely powerful by sending him into the Shadowlands where he used his necromantic powers to take over and THAT’S why no new souls were getting through.
Like, Wrath 2 would have been way less imaginative than what we got but just because we have a reason to care about the characters and just changing the villain makes it way more relateable.
Because the Jailer dared to question the value of your axe’s haft, so you had to teach him a lesson.
I can understand that. I think it’s just humorous that some people can’t seem to understand that just like other discords, we just want a place to hang and talk about all kinds of things, which can’t be done very well on this forum.
But as usual there are those who just want to believe the worst.
There is a name for this but I forgotten it, but the devs did say they wanted to move forward with the lore, not just keep tugging old villains out. (Even though the leader of the burning legion is still alive)
Like you proposed an idea and it sounds like a cool concept but its also seemingly in the lens of semi nostagia of trying to make an old villain relevant again, and there is nothing wrong with that but they are trying to move forward, and some ppl might not like Arthas’s legacy continuing as a shadowlands villain with how bad they have been communicating motives ingame instead of story books.
Also devs did say they want us as strong as titans at some point, and you very much arent some guy with an axe, you are the deathlord.

I’ll chime in on most of these threads (because my nefarious agenda has always been to get more unique, lore appropriate customizations that let players tell their characters’ story), but I only have a limited amount of drama tolerance, and I prefer not to spend it on drama on the high internet.
More customizations for everyone; give me forest trolls and stop matching my dwarves’ eyebrow color to skin color because it genuinely looks awful, Blizzard.
Give me Amani trolls.
Seriously, I don’t get why a discord has to be bought into this? Yes, the servers get used by everyone, Anti, Pro, Raiders, PVP’ers,… But who cares who is in what discord server. This is the WoW Forums, not Discord. This thread is about why people hate Void Elves, not about which server is toxic.

Alleria is their leader. Alleria belongs to Alliance with her husband. It makes perfect sense. Both “elves” had some lineage from being cast out and chose the Sun as their way. Both sides can Roleplay or simply play a High Elf. BUT, you must choose a side of POWAH! 
I’m still a bit surprised that the drama and controversy didn’t go away when the Alliance received Void Elves. So naive of me. LOL
