And now we have void elves. I don’t care if blood elves remained in the Horde, but I wanted high elves, and we got the void elves a bad compromise that was never gonna satisfy anyone. And with the faction divide weakening further all I can hope for is we just get full blown high elves and be done with it1
Well blizzard compromised in the form of giving void elves first, then void elves with some hair and skin tones. It was never what I wanted when I wanted helves. I wanted them as an ar with a distinct model, and my stance on that never changed. If I still wanted them I’d want that still.
And I was never attacked for that in the anti discord. They know I felt it was the best way for there to be high elves without necessarily stepping on the belf visual identity, just as I know that it wouldn’t be enough distinction and that some belf fans may even be unhappy at there being a new model they wouldn’t also have access to.
They keep acting like we care about blood elves lol
My only beef is them looking exactly like blood elves I guess
What blizzard did isn’t on the people who enjoy blood elves and their lore and who just want the race they love to keep their visual identity. I’d want to keep nelf stuff distinct if the nightborne weren’t so completely screwed over visually.
All out of likes, but honestly makes it obvious who the more reasonable ones out of the two sides are.
Then you have this:
Night and day.
The Void Elves seem very dark, sinister, almost evil-like and crave more power. IMO they don’t feel like an Alliance race, but that’s just my opinion. I feel like the Void Elves don’t really have any issues with the Horde but they did with Silvermoon which led to their exodus. Realistically I don’t think the Void Elves would ever join the Alliance, it’s too much of a stretch. I could see them being upset with the Horde and going neutral, but they have decades long allegiance to the Horde and I don’t think they would switch sides that easily. It would be more believable if the Void Elves went back to the Horde than deciding to join the Alliance.
Honestly, and this is not replying to anyone in particular, but in a way, I actually do wish Blizzard would alter the models of the Void Elves a bit to maybe look a little bit more different. Even if using the concept model ideas designed by the Legacy of the Quel’dorei server.
On the visually distinct angle, I remember some high elf fans proposing some thunderforged ideas or something and I absolutely loved it. Saw some mockups. I’d roll one, to be honest, if that were a thing. That was something unique and fun.
570 posts OP. Congrats.
Why do you keep talking about me indirectly? If you’re going to be snarky, can you at least give me the courtesy of responding directly to me? You didn’t reply hours ago either.
They don’t need disticntion. They are the same damn race. They are in lore, basically neutral. They take part in alliance wars and Horde wars. They splintered. They had a distinction with their eye colors but blizz went and goofed that up. Either way, we didn’t need a compromise, we don’t need distinction. We just want high elves. They can still give that to us. Just give us the name, the racial toggle, and the hair.
I liked that idea quite a bit myself.
You do know in lore, Elves would actually the same way as Humans, just like with every race, there would be some differences of the same race. It is basically the same concept as reality, as the old saying goes, no two persons are the same
You get a like! You get a like! Could not agree with you two more.
Right?! Like I saw some of the mockups with lightning tattoos and a general lightning theme and was like “Okay, now THAT is neat. I adore that.” I like lightning stuff anyway, so applying that to high elves would make me super game. Especially what they could do with the eyes! Like if there was a slight crackle effect or something.
Plus, people like how the high elves are ‘light’ as opposed to dark, and lightning certainly still encompasses that. I’d also probably find them more interesting if the arcane stuff visually was emphasized. Something more dripping with magic, really. Well, arcane. Or lightning (especially lightning).
But the feelings of blood elf fans do matter, to me anyway. Given the number of belf players, they should matter to blizzard as well.
Okay? So? This is WoW we are talking about. Customization is limited. Nothing reflects those small differences. You can’t make yourself in game as a human. You just have a few options and they fit together like a puzzle piece.
Only a few are whining like that. Most don’t care. We aren’t stealing anything from blood elves. They have their story, high elves have their own. If a few appearances makes them feel like their race is being stolen from them then there’s nothing to be done about that. They will have to get over it.
no, you want to control people’s options how they play this game. alliance high elves existed before blood elves, they never had a monopoly on their appearance
i wasn’t, but if the shoe fits…
