Why does everyone keep calling them Blizzard?

I feel like it’s a death strike to the face of the old blizzard who loved wow and were gamers themselves calling Activision who now develop WoW blizzard…they just do whatever gives them the most $$.

RiP the true Blizzard

yea metzen is gone. i bet no one who created their good games works there any more.

They are just janitors for a brand that used to make good games

Soon they’ll be called Microsoft

Because it’s still at the top of the screen.

It’s simply a hollow vessel if a once great company that was like us, gamers.

People call them Blizzard because they’re still called Blizzard.

Saying people should call them Activision because it’s not nice to the OG Blizzard folk seems a bit weird to the OG Activision folk.

Blazzerd does have a nice ring to it…

DAMMIT BLAZZERD!

Yep, that works real nice.

Because even though its presently Activision; the name of the studio is indeed blizzard.

But, yeah, this blizzard is not comparable with old Blizzard, but that it should be known that Activision basically took over at the end of TBC, technically making Wrath the first Activision WoW version.

How does that make you feel? Remember, this is for posterity, so be honest.

Well, $$ is the reason they exist. You would do the same in their shoes.

The President of Blizzard is a streamer and rank 74 for Rogues in Mythic+ in the world. They’ve got lots of gamers working there.

This isn’t true.

If this was true, I’d be able to buy WoW tokens in classic.

You understand old Blizzard was owned by a corrupt hotel and cleaning company right?

But sure. Everything was better in the past.

I remember them taking over during Ulduar when we got the Battle.net monstrosity. Would explain why ToC sucked and ICC didn’t feel nearly as monumental as it should’ve. Heard somewhere way back when that ToC was only half the raid and when Arthas broke the floor the second half, which was supposed to be a zone onto itself, was going to be nerubian-based entirely, and we got the gimped version instead to save the precious developmental $.

As ToC is, I’m not one to disbelieve it.

I’ve called them “Blizzardo” for years. Don’t ask me why, I’ve no idea. Fun to say I guess.

Its hard to know, since development of wrath started when Blizzard was owned by Vivindi. So wotlk released in 2008 and activision acquired blizzard in 2008, but wotlk was likely mostly complete prior to the acquisition.

Because that’s the name of the company

I played the Alpha and beta for wrath. The game wasn’t even done when it launched with many changes and updates shipping just after beta for missing content.

Speaking of, many dungeons and raids were not part of beta, and a few quests and zones were also incomplete well into beta (AVTI) had owned Blizz for a bit by then.
