Why Does Everyone Complain About Gear?

It’s not that. It’s the fact that PvE gear has always been present, but everyone acts like this is the first time.

Does nobody remember any expansion before Legion? Literally any expansion.

Nobody likes how pve gear is ruining the game. The acquisition of said gear is even worse.

If every class got the same options for pve gear it would be better, but it would still be best to have it not exist in the first place.

It’s as though we had pvp vendors during every expansion before legion.

I mean, to be fair, Crucible of Storms is a two boss raid. It’s not hard. One hour of your week is all that it takes. And that’s counting in filling the whole raid, getting there, summons, etc.

I’m not in anyway a raider, and I had both bosses killed on Heroic on the first night of the patch’s release, just by pugging it.

Nobody ever said it was hard, but raiding for many players is genuinely disinteresting. I know That’s why i don’t do it.

Just thinking about raiding makes me want to go take a nap tbh

One can’t be too sure. He’s a Human Ret Paladin after all. They’re bred a special kind of stupid.

I agree, it is genuinely disinteresting, but I did it because it’s how you gear this expansion.

It’s a little work, but it pays off. Makes the game significantly funner, being geared, and knowing your hard work paid off.

Part of an RPG is the journey, too, so it’s best to just try to enjoy it. And then, once you reach the end of your journey, you get to really enjoy the destination.

So much better than Legion’s endless AP grind. It’s nice to just be fully geared and able to just chill and PvP.

On a side note: Just wait until you learn how you had to gear in Vanilla, and let’s see where your Classic hype goes.

Imagine thinking everyone is hyped for vanilla, some of us have to go out and walk dogs for a living and experience fresh air and sunlight

In most cases i would agree with you, but i just don’t here If you’re somehow having fun with the new gear, i can’t take that away from you, but a lot of us aren’t.

MoP/WoD PvE gear had no presence in PvP. MoP had PvP power, WoD had gear scaling to be higher ilevel than mythic raids in PvP.

Dilly, maybe it’s because english is my 3rd language and I misunderstanding this, but it seems you are contradicting yourself here:

On another post you said that PvE gear doesn’t matter for DKs:

And on this post, more generically speaking of course, you call PVE gear “discuscusting” and saying the OP is delusional if he can’t see how OP PVE gear is:

So, in your opinion, does PVE matter or not? Or it doesn’t matter to DKs only?

Personally, I’m totally against any kind of PvE gear in PvP.

WoD/MoP PvE gear wasn’t a thing, and in cata/wotlk it was specific items and they also sacrificed defense for their offensive gain. You still could have full PvP gear and do well.

Currently as a PvPer you need to do an incredible amount of PvE, M+'s just for optimal stats PLUS you have broken raid items that are not only godlike defensively but are also stronger offensively than any other item in a PvP scenario (for example trident).

There isn’t the tradeoff that once existed from PvE gear. WotLK PvE gear off pieces (losing resil on say rings/necks for agility) is a way different tradeoff. That’s an ok trade.

These situations aren’t comparable and it’s actually you who is having a hard time remembering previous xpacs gearing or you just lack the understanding of the differences in these situations and why it’s problematic.

The point in that post is that the PvE gear is obviously still hilariously broken, DKs included - but DKs already have more than enough survivability that it’s usually overkill or just more forgiving for extra terrible play. But you don’t really need it as much on DK because you’ll still be one of the harder targets to kill, so this is just a lack of understanding of the point there.

Dk survivability doesnt matter when every healer other than disc can pump out more heals than anyone can possibly damage. Rdruids and hpalas full healing people while barely casting

Get into late damp double or triple maledict a Dk and he dies literally DS not going to save you

Oh wow, a Ret Paladin with all the best gear is defending it? What a surprise.

Quote from Jawah:
“Again, my stance:
Game is balanced without the use of PvE gear > Game is balanced with the use of PvE gear > Game is unbalanced.”

So why even make this thread? People just like yourself prefer the game to be balanced without the use of pve gear, which is why the complain

Actually, there are trade offs. I lose 845 worth of base secondary stats, which is a 22% loss, as well as the significant burst damage increase of having a second DPS trinket.

So, it’s just the exact opposite of previous expansions. Instead of trading off survival for damage, I’m trading off damage for survival.

What he means by trade off is, trading a piece of PvP gear for a piece of PvE gear, not trading one piece of PvE gear for another piece of PvE gear.

Resilience needs to be brought back, PvE gear passives need to be disabled when engaged in PvP.
