Why does Crystallized Firestone take the place of another piece of loot in Firelands?

Is it intended for the Crystallized Firestone to take place of specific boss loot tables? We’re in week 6 of Firelands, and my 10m group has very little need for these Crystallized Firestones. That does not stop us from seeing 2x drop of these from bosses, and only 1 real loot drop. For example, last night we kill H Baleroc and get 2 Crystallized Firestone and 1 tier token. Why does Crystallized Firestone take the place of another piece of loot specific to a boss when these things drop from every boss?

They “buffed” the droprate of Firestones

“We’ve also increased the drop chance of Crystallized Firestone from all respective sources in the Firelands.”

Willing to bet the 1 intern working on Cata messed up tho, overbuffed 10man drop rate and didn’t buff 25man droprate at all. My 10man sees a crazy amount of firestones compared to my 25man raid which hardly sees any

Because it upgrades an item to heroic quality which rewards loot.

Lol they probably increased the 10man drop rate twice while thinking they did both 10 and 25

25 Man we see 1 or 2 per run MAYBE.

I don’t think anyone on the team has an upgraded relic they are so scarce we are rationing them for the other items that are larger upgrades still.

Yeah we have had runs where 0 drop, probably half the time actually never see 1.

I think we are gonna have more legendary staves than upgraded firestone items lol.

the Crystallized Firestone should have been a bonus reward that had a chance of dropping on heroic that doesn’t take away other loot

Yeah they definitly messed up. Firestones are going to OS for us next week. We get 2 or 3 per run in 10M.

Meanwhile we killed h rag with 0 cloth boots, belts, wrist, caster necks, and a total of 3 conq tokens. lol. 10M loot is obnoxious and they really need to redesign how this works.
