It was the passion, love and longings what built the private server community. Classic are being remade by The New Blizzard we all know have no common vision with who made the Original Vanilla. The current audience of Blizzard, the new gamer has nothing common with older generation who passionately played Vanilla.
The biggest mistake what Blizzard made is to put a common subscription to min/max their outcome like the retailers are today doing the same min/max to our beloved game, such a pity. What makes a game success is the “community”, not the pixels nor the combat.

Because the seventh time just isn’t as fun as the first six. Did you really need someone to point that out?

THis is just untrue, original classic devs were directly involved in vanilla production, just not all of them. Also knowing how activision has been treating their employees, Blizzard’s productivity and morale is probably at an all time low.
I’m actually amazed they still work on hotfixes for this game at all considering how their support teams have been gutted. It just sucks that there aren’t more fixes and direct involvement with the community…
Again I will say you have to find the server that matches your personality. Every server has a different community and standard of players.
I have no idea what community are you talking about. We play on European servers, after months of debating Blizzard being convinced to put German and French servers. The server I play has more than 20 different language speaking people with over 5k maybe even over 10k. Community?
Do not try to raise pity about Blizzard please. They always had and have their own will to go their own route, they chose to be a part of Activision. No one can justify Blizzard’s decisions. If you truly honestly believing what happened to Retail version is just because of Activision than it is on you, Blizzard still sign under their game.
The EU forums/servers have their own problems, as well as a 99% horde server, I feel bad for you guys honestly sounds like the min/maxers took over. Buuuuut this is the US forum so not much similarity as far as language barriers go.
Sorry to hear that though it really is a sign of how neglected classic has been, all of the details they haven’t picked up on or planned for is just astounding and it is caused by a lack of funding/work time/care from higher ups.

This is factually untrue. Activision bought Blizzard’s parent company.
Feels MORE fun here. First time was fantastic feeling my way around discovering stuff. This time I’m still discovering plenty while also being able to fully milk every bit of fun from all the systems I missed. Leveling cooking alongside me, choosing different professions, dividing my classes up the way I want instead of whatever happens happens.
I couldn’t discern a difference between Classic and private servers if you paid me. (Other than the constant dread of a wipe ofc)

That’s pretty much my feeling as well. Accomplishing something by simply playing is so eclipsed by the min max zoomers, that the “payoff” is so void of satisfaction.
I strongly suspect that had they made the 2 games separate subscriptions, a lot less “zoomer” garbage would have impacted classic.

Dude, time has nothing at all to do with satisfaction in a game. Hell, I still get enjoyment from playing Zork.
But do you get the same enjoyment as you did the first time? You’ll never have that sense of wonder and discovery again, as when you first played.

Many players on balanced pvp realms complained about PVP in P2.
Did you expect a game that’s 15 years old to be new and refreshing? Serious question, I’m just trying to figure out this mindset.
Just as fun for me as it was the first time around in terms of soloing & questing, but not surrounded by RL friends & such this time around for guild-mates or most grouping situations, so that has a different vibe to it.
I’m just taking my time & leveling various characters. My 53 Priest & 51 Druid are my highest currently. I’m not in competition with anyone since I am not interested in MMORPG flavored PvP. Just doing my own thing & enjoying the WoW content that interests me at my own pace.
new and refreshing? no, im not sure where i said anything about that. i just hoped for a more nostalgic experience. and i say that as someone who in vanilla was part of the us 15th KT kill and a hardcore raider. The way people play now feels like a job compared to how we played back then, which really says something.

Interesting, never seen obvious truth get flagged like that before. Guess people didnt like your slight exaggeration? I find it more likely they simply dont know they’re edging us out of the market. Despite all the uproar directly in their faces…

yes, these forums are strange that way. I have had posts silenced before that are tame like this. Makes a guy just want to not post on these forums. Thank you for your reply.
You can’t go off of this. Most of these posts are repeat topics from the same people on alts. You can’t measure anything by this forum that allows multiple avatars.
How did we get there? I’ll tell you how. Streamers and their “real Vanilla experience is on pvp servers”. Remind me again about the cries for server transfers off pvp realms when P2 started.
We may not even have needed that many pvp servers if people wouldn’t have rolled pvp servers with no intentions of pvp.
On that token most pvp servers are stacked with people who went there because they are popular. Not for the pvp! Thank the streamers for that mess.
I really wish my orc racial was half as OP as this forum and the streamers claim. Warrior gets a charge off on me I’m stunned. Haven’t seen 1 resist yet. Charge. Stun. Spamstring. Lol. Yup. So OP.
When you met wow she was young and full of life. She smiled and laughed a lot and was innocent. Now she’s almost middle age and she’s pumped out 5 kids and she’s fat angry and bitter. Half her teeth have fallen out. She’s beat up broken and scarred.
When you met wow she was young and full of life. She smiled and laughed a lot and she was innocent and untouched by time. Now she’s close to middle age. She’s pumped out 5 kids. The years have beaten her down. She’s old, angry and bitter. Half her teeth have fallen out. Now the only thing keeping her going is spite.
It’s not fun the same way eating 50 crispy creme donuts in one sitting isn’t fun.
