Maybe! I’m so used to it, I didn’t even realize it was introduced to druids via a rune in SoD. It’s very bread & butter feral from my perspective, but prior to SoD, I’ve most recently been maining feral in Wrath Classic where you’re obviously keeping SR up all the time.
I could definitely have seen and enjoyed this route also, but with dual spec, there’s no way a jack-of-all trades playstyle is going to be supported by the community.
There are already far more people playing feral than is typical. I think the true test is when they offer nothing, have the most complex rotation, and do mediocre or worse DPS, like normal.
I do feel like feral has been given a lot of love the past year or so in Wrath Classic and SoD, so maybe I’m just happy with something rather than nothing.

Alternatively you can just use ACP endlessly, in era they just farmed more pummelers and had to always do it. I would say having to farm a few gold a week instead of having to spend hours upon hours farming gnomer every week for more pummelers is far better.
It is literally era flavoring and making it LESS tedious then it was in era, but keeping the flavor.
Comparing trash to trash. Shouldn’t just accept anything that’s handed to you. Either get rid of OG Pummeler gameplay or embrace it as a full on ability. 50Silver to use an ability is ridiculous. If you use Catnip every 3 minutes and PvP for 1 hour you are spending 9g an hour.
You have to spend 9g to play for an hour to do the most damage you can as Feral lmfao

You have to use in-game resources to do the most possible damage you can?

I agree 100%
It is currently 9g an hour if you wanted 100% uptime on it during raid, in addition to all the other consumes that every other class pays for
So it’s just tacking on another 9g an hour to ferals compared to every other class
In other words, feral has to get all the same consumes as a warrior does, but ALSO needs to pay 9g an hour to play their class and not suck
Blizzard please decrease the cost by a good 75%+
It shouldn’t be free
but it shouldn’t be 9g an hour - closer to 2-3g an hour would be ideal, fair, reasonable

I suppose that’s a fair point. They did fine in previous phases without the buff though. In phase one they were one of the top without it. Can you swap from ACP after you use the effect and still keep the effect? How much better is the new equipment compared to ACP? Sounds like just use ACP unless you want to min-max that extra 5% damage once you have a better weapon.
No idea what this is directed at.
A Feral with no consumables vs another spec with no consumables, the Feral will do significantly less damage. With Catnip they might do as much damage as them. That means Feral is the only spec RELYING on consumables.

Or just make it a rune. We didnt really get one in P3. Gore is awful and Elunes fire is dev trolling.
Phase one people barely had any abilities.
Phase two Ferals were one of the worst DPS specs in the game. And this is with everyone having a mostly fully fleshed out tree and almost all their abilities.
You can’t use both of them, they share the same CD.

Don’t use 'em. I don’t think anyone is going to care really, if you don’t.
What is the difficulty level of getting 9g or however much for raid consumes in phase 3?
A pally on one of my raid teams regularly spends (or did spend in P2; not sure what prices will be in P3, yet) about 90s/oil of immolation, 1.2g per dragonbreath chili, and 10g/str scroll, not counting summons for DMF, etc. and his average parses are 99.5.
You know who cares if he spends gold on his consumes or shows up with no consumes? Only he does.

But can you use the ACP then switch to main weapon, meaning just farm an ACP and your golden you don’t need the catnip. I don’t know if the buff stays after use, you still lose a single global switching weapons but if it works, it wouldn’t be that big of a deal. You can also just use ACP as its much better DPS until you have a weapon which outperforms it on its own. The poor man’s option.
LOL
“don’t use them then”
Tell me that you’re a casual player without saying “I’m a casual player”
If you’re a casual player, then you can just not use them. If you’re not a casual player, get off the forums complaining about costs of consumes… lol

???
Don’t use them? How do you expect us to keep up with any other DPS spec in the game? The runes we were given for Feral are both useless. We already relied on pummeler in Phase 2 and we were still bad.
Because he’s trying to parse. We are not talking about parsing and competing for ranks on warcraftlogs. Bringing a Feral with no catnip, they cannot do enough damage to be worth bringing. You just asking someone to be happy with doing way less damage than every other spec is just absurd.
There is no reason for it to be 9g for 100% uptime, when they can just reduce the cost by 75%+
In order for ferals to be competitive as a DPS, they need to use this item, otherwise they will drastically, drastically underperform every other DPS class
You should not have to spend 9g an hour to remain competitive
That is the difference
A casual feral druid will do bottom of the barrel DPS, absolute dog water
A casual mage does not have to worry about this issue

It will probably cost 35s at exalted.
Not that thats any better but having the item in the first place is still a win
ACP has a 14% drop rate per WoWhead. Some people may never see it drop and now you’re not going to see a lot of raids forming for Gnomer.
done gnomer entire p2 and never seen it drop
The Phase 3 weapons already give significantly more attack power than MCP. The Phase 4 weapons will give even more.
So basically you are replacing a 30second attack speed buff with a 30 second attack power buff worth hundreds of AP. No matter what you have to use that catnip.
OK sure. No reason for it to be any given number. I’m not sure why you feel that 9 is a ceiling, and who knows, maybe this is a legitimate concern.
I mean, the difference between a casual feral (say 60% parsing) and a 99% parsing feral isn’t going to be enough to say, “Hey guys, our 2nd melee team doesn’t need a feral druid.”
