Please do not take my post out of context! I am VERY happy that TBC lovers got what they asked for! It is far past due and you deserve the servers!
But how did an entire movement for fresh classic servers become ignored and hijacked?
Back in March, a bunch of us classic lovers started a “fresh classic” movement on Deviate Delight that was pretty successful. We asked and asked for fresh classic realms.
Classic Population: Can we get fresh classic-era servers?
Blizzard: …
Classic Population: We started a fresh movement on Deviate Delight and the server is booming. Can we get fresh classic-era servers?
Blizzard: …
TBC Fans: Can we get a fresh TBC realm?
Blizzard: Sure! Here ya go!
Classic Era Population: That’s fine, but what about us?
Blizzard: …
TBC Fans: Also, can we get dual spec and instant mail?
Blizzard: Sure! Here ya go!
Classic Era Population: WTH?
My point is: Once again, the classic-era loving community has been ignored! And it’s getting old! What does Blizzard have against us?
We got TBC+, maybe further? I suppose its difficult to know exactly what these servers are at this point as Blizz has been overtly ambiguous in telling us the final destination.
As an avid vanilla wow fan, I hope you get what you are looking for. Best of luck.
Comprehension is key, friend- My post clearly states “classic era servers”, not TBC servers.
These new servers are TBC servers (I can’t believe I have to explain this) and the new servers are nowhere near “classic fresh”, we wanted new classic-forever type servers. Dual spec is not a Classic-era, or even a TBC-era, feature. Also, a crunched timeline that the casual classic player would never be able to keep up with.
I don’t blame the TBC fans. They have to wait a year and they might not even get a TBC Era. They’ve been underserved for a long time.
I don’t think this is really for the people who demanded fresh though. It’s for the people who will consume every piece of content Blizzard puts out, and when MoP Classic comes out and/or the new Retail expansion they’ll go there. They’re the ones who want things to change to accommodate them.
