The minds of you weirdos who say stuff like blizzard is conditioning you to do anything are super frickin weird. What do they have to gain from doing that? I assure you aren’t important enough for anyone to care enough for them to try and do something like that.

The same reason that musicians don’t like it when people only care about their old stuff and don’t buy their new records.
Also, most of the devs are all about one thing and one thing only: Raids. Classic has a lot more content than just raids, which devs don’t like to deal with because they have the attitude that you do it once and then it’s over, while raids are meant to be repeated over and over and over and over again ad subscriptitum.
I know Classic has its own sort of nebulous dev team but they seem mostly interested in SoD and prefer to keep the other versions on maintenance mode, which is understandable.
People asked all these things for years, we’re all victim of Blizzard’s behavior/ignorance.
Because when they get their quarterly earnings report breakdown, the Retail toy shop provides more revenue than the Classic Era subs.
The developers currently developing the game are not the developers who made the game 20 years ago. I do not care about a band called Lynyrd Skynyrd if no original members of Lynyrd Skynyrd are there. God forbid those guys are in charge of remastering the real Lynyrd Skynyrd’s work.
It’s clear the current developers do not care about maintaining Classic Era as the museum piece it was sold as and will make changes for no other reason than to make change.
