Why would you want worse graphics, outdated design, and almost no customization? Almost everyone used Elvui and Bartender. You couldn’t drag your action bars, and that was distracting for people with big screens. You couldn’t combine bags without an addon, you couldn’t move many tabs without an add-on, and it was straight up from 2004. Get off your nostalgia googles.
Could it be better? Of course. It has some bugs and features I don’t like. But let’s not be blind and act like the old UI wasn’t the most dated one in existence.

I think there’s a large, understated segment of the population who just play the game casually, are probably a little older, and find sudden change to be difficult and frustrating, especially when it requires some level of technical ability with computers to figure out. For them, I wish the old UI was at least an option.

You underestimate how attached people are to the old things in WoW. I am super guilty of being emotionally attached to the old, two polygon models in this game. I get choked up seeing them updated - I am STILL not over them taking old cheetah form from me. Lots of people still wanted to use the Classic models on Retail, and were upset when Blizzard removed the option for that as well.
I understand why they didn’t want to keep maintaining the old models, but it feels kinda sad they don’t have a Legacy skin for the new UI. Keep the old look, but add the new functionality.

For one thing, the old UI never crashed my dungeon and kept me from logging back in again with “fatal errors”…

I love the new UI. It’s fresh and clean. I think there’s a lot of room to improvement still. But this definitely feels more modern and somehow… Like final fantasy a lot but the default mouse over healing for example is pretty great, that I adore!
But at the same time it’s an old game. I think it’s a matter of being used to something or just being comfortable Infront your old TV.
I think it could have been left there as an option. But I guess if people really want it badly, it’s there on classic.
How tho you just press edit mode and set it up
Just imagine sitting your mom down in front of the edit mode, and that will illustrate my point.

If your mom can’t figure it out i wouldn’t let her near any device where she could harm herself.

Most of WoW’s veteran fanbase are millennials/late Gen X no? I’m pretty sure they understand how a game HUD works if they played WoW for that long.
You’d be surprised how bad at computers some people are. Try working in an office for a while.

If they have played WoW for that long and still suck at navigating a UI (including the added features in the old one) then it’s no longer the game’s problem lol
Well if that’s how you feel, and those players aren’t important to you, then it is what it is.

It’s not about what’s important to me. I’m implying those players don’t exist or there’s at least a very small fraction lol
Then we have to agree to disagree, I suppose.

I wouldn’t dismiss it as a subset of players that “don’t exist” if we’re having this conversation in the first place.
