What aspects of Emerald Dream makes you call it your home? What do you enjoy the most about it?
Honestly its the rp community. Both the Horde and Alliance have people that have worked very hard to build Emerald Dream’s rp to what it is. I used to be on Moon Guard for years, but this server’s people are what made me stay. You rp long enough here, and you just feel part of the world. With lots of events, world pvp, cross faction, etc. the server just seems to have too many good things to ever go back.
Definitely the people that put in the work to make this more than a community. When we use the say family, we mean it! We have each other’s backs!
My friends, the community, even the more crazy parts,
I tried so many servers throughout the last 4 of the last 8 years I have been playing. I went from horde to alliance from RP to PVP to PVE servers. The server that I loved was a PVE server and had been my home. For me, it stopped being my home when they merged and crzed the server. I was not happy.
What was once a small close-knit family of both horde and alliance, got lost in a city that was no longer home. I started looking for raid teams, for something different, something that would feel like my home before it was destroyed by a crowd of unknown folks.
After several server hops, and toon creation I found my way to WrA. For me, WrA seemed like something new but it was a cold welcome and no one ever approached me to talk to me. I was new to RP and had no idea really what I was doing. I got whispers on how to fix my story or to help me fix my grammar.
At some point, I found my way to Emerald Dream from someone in a PVP group I belonged to. So I made a toon on Emerald Dream to joined their guild that was not a happening guild but the server felt good, it felt right 3 years ago. I deleted my first toon, made another, and got an invited to a guild that was so odd but the server felt more alive each day I logged on. I knew they were going to kick me soon because I was not at max level and pre-Legion was going to start soon. So I made a human paladin to check out the alliance side and got invited to a guild that was pretty fun and they helped me get started into real RP. They did not care if I typed something wrong or got it completely wrong. They were awesome and happy to help a new person out. My husband came to the server as well to see this guild that had a raid team. I then went to the forums and saw this post by a Worgen Mage (He was awesome and was the Alpha at that time). His writing and his poetic words made me rethink worgen life might be for me. The Päck was the name of the guild and I wanted in. I made a worgen, reread the rules, and it took 20 levels and days of me panicking about contacting them. To this day Fellaria is still in that guild. I love my worgen girl.
As to the human paladin, she had a change of hearts and moved on to a bright and happy guild that I call home these days, The Redwood Tribe. Emerald Dream is now home to many of my toons, and I am forever thankful to finally have a place to call home.
Emerald Dream has seen many changes over the years, but the warmth of the community has always been good for me. I can not say thank you enough to alliance community for helping on my journey or to The Redwood Tribe for taking me in and having those Tall Tales every month that drew me in.
The sweet, sweet 18ms ping, and I have some friends here.
Because Dobi Made Nascent on Emerald Dream and they needed a DPS warrior after ATBT.
Dwarfs, uhhhmm… yeah, no surprise there.
Because lag prevents me from playing on Moon Guard and Wyrmrest Accord.
I transferred at the end of MOP because I heard it was one of the few servers that still had an active server identity/community in addition to WPVP and PVP guilds/communities.
Quality, enjoyable WPVP is gone though. I like to 1vX or duel, but everybody runs in groups now, and even if they didn’t, 1v1 doesn’t take skill anymore due to pruning, so the unique aspect of the server is gone now.
Have always played on RP-PvP realms because blue-flagged “safe space” environments just don’t feel right… they are immersion-breaking for me. Some people like that kinda thing and that’s cool. Always being flagged for PvP has the down side of inviting trolls to crash RP events, but I guess you take the good with the bad.
Came to ED when it was the only active RP-PvP realm left (second half of Legion), and have really enjoyed the community here. No shortage of trolls (they’re on every realm) but the greater community makes it worth it.
Looking for a strong RP server for Horde side would ED be a good fit for me? Looking for active groups and open world rp’s
I came here for money, power, and women.
Well I can’t lie the server time being the same as my own time zone is, actually really helpful.
Beyond that though, really love the RP community. One that some people simply insist isn’t there despite providing fairly quality content for the better part of 2 years.
Horde or Alliance: I smash that WAR MODE button on any ED toon, and questing is instantly a whole different game mode.
Idk I like that cat and mouse sh*t in a video game, and this realm facilitates that depending on how busy and how antsy the population is
I came back to Emerald Dream for Nostalgia purposes, As I have been here since first days of Burning Crusade. Emerald Dream has always been home for this warlock and feels at home, even though all the friends I once had on this server have seen to gone elsewhere, and boy do I miss a few of those faces. :C
Friend of friend of friend invited friend of friend who invited friend and over time one person who i’ve never played with and who decided to play in this server got me in here. Buttefly/domino effect i guess.
What makes me stay? The community is great, and it is the best place to be a dwarf wpvper. The clan has a great, tight-knit community that has been playing for a very long time, and it feels good to be a part of that family.
Funnily enough, Legion was my first xpac and I belonged to a small pve guild - never knew what the wpvp/rp community was about until bfa hit. Which is good, because the community keeps me subbed.
I love my guild, got a lot of good friends and wpvp!
Yup. Dwarves and our allies always have a great time smashing horde…
Hmmm… How is that going for you?
Have you found a great Orc woman?
How is that shaman power going?
Have you achieved your gold goal yet?
If you have, please let the rest of us know how you did it?
Thanks, inquiring minds want to know.
