Because of how the game funtions its immersive, unlike retail which to me feels like one of those hyper crazy phone games.

I like the traveling it feels real, grounded. Its also super cute all my toons are btype2 dwarf and they are bis cute

Don’t be so naive. “Self-heals” doesn’t include pots. Playing in Retail vs Classic is a HUGE difference. In retail, you don’t even have to worry about bandaging anymore. When’s the last time you chugged a mana pot? Stopped to eat/drink? Stopped to pull a single mob because you had to be careful, since that pot you drank is still on CD (as opposed to a class self heal which is much more available more frequently).
If you’ve actually played Classic, then you should know.

Regarding your so called “MMORPG format,” I can name several where the journey to max level was the best part. Final Fantasy, Lost Ark, SWTOR.
And no… When Classic was introduced, the oddballs were the ones rushing to max level. over 1/2 the player base was enjoying the leveling and actual social aspect of an MMO of doing dungeons together again.
