Why do you hate Voidform? #removevoidform

IM THE ONE PLAYING SHADOW NOT YOU. IM THE ONE PLAYING CONTENT NOT YOU. DONT GIVE ME THAT CRAP. IM TIRED OF PEOPLE NOT PLAYING ANY CONTENT TELLING ME WHAT US AND IS NOT FUN OR ACCEPTABLE OR VIABLE. BECAUSE YOU DONT KNOW.

Stop trying to change my class just because you don’t like it. I’m tired of that. All the time people on these forums telling me what is and is not fun to play that never played it anyway. Never cleared content. Trying to force my class to be boring and homogenous to every other caster just because its not what you want.

omg how can i say this any clearer you DID NOT clear content we can tell from your profile.

No one is telling you what is fun remember you came to this post and started TELLING US that our opinion is invalid because you know better.

this is not YOUR class it’s A class that many play in wow.

glad you showed your true colors for the whole forum to read. I knew you were full of nonsense.

sit down, calm down, and learn to accept criticism and other opinions

I did clear content. Period. Have you played at all this xpac? Like even a dungeon? How can you say my content clear doesn’t matter? I’m tired of this elitist nonsense from someone with NO CLEARS AT ALL.

OH…MY…GOD

“elitest nonsense”…yet you’re the one who said this

do you even know what elitest means?

Bro. It seems you started comparing character accomplishments and yours are sorely lacking. You are losing on a battlefield of your choosing.

Also, clearing usually means finishing. What have you FI dishes.

Btw: love the looks of Void form. Not as cool as old shadow. And I HATE the mechanics.

What are you talking about.
Giving us all the talents baseline as you described wont fix it. It will just scale to the extreme end again.

You seem to think that if we just adjust some numbers via granting insanity at max out of combat and making talents baseline will fix it. It wont, it cant. All that would happen is move the issues from being broken/unplayable to being OP as it was in the beginning of legion.

This back and forth is why we are in the current state.
Prior to Insanity/Void Form, It was just a number issue regarding single/multi target damage. But at base the class performed well. Meaning it didn’t step on itself while playing/engaging with content. It had a nice flow/rhythm that worked.
It simply does not have that anymore, it awkward to play play at best and horrifyingly frustrating at worse.

There is no middle ground to the Insanity spec.

Yea mine are sorely lacking but there’s no issue with the person with none. Amazing. You tell me that shadow has too long of a ramp up time, it’s not fun, it’s not viable in content outside raid bosses, and there’s all these other issues…

HOW WOULD YOU KNOW?! You don’t play. You spend all your time not playing the class you complain so much about. And half of what you say is incorrect. The only two people that have posted here on these forums with any actual progress in game on their priests are both against you.

Weird isn’t it? That people that actually play the class might have some interesting insight.

What a joke these forums are.

You’re wrong then. Simple enough. I disagree with you. I pointed out the flaws and gave my responses. All you seem to do is just say no. So not sure why I should keep talking to you.

How do you know that it won’t? How do you know that making Legacy of the Void baseline, changing some scaling, and reducing the issues with insanity between pulls won’t fix the issue?

Have you played shadow at all this expansion?

99% of you haven’t TOUCHED the spec. But you’re all experts on what’s wrong. All because someone on a youtube video told you that an ALPHA VERSION of the spec is bad and you don’t like the minimal amount of changes already made.

The real insanity are the people here… this is beyond nuts.

you seem to contradict yourself

now THAT is what we call a “LOGICAL FALLACY”

This expansion isn’t a good example of “have you done x content” because unless your living under a rock, its a well known issues that many classes feel horrible to play. The amount of content to do doesn’t fix that.

That is the entire reason why Essences and corruption effects were added, in an attempt to fix the base class gameplay for a great deal many class/specs.

It just so happens that Shadow I think is among if not the WORST case by this metric.

Side note:

My reasoning (I assume many others as well) for not doing content is that we are ahead of the curve in seeing the issues and decided its not worth the time.
That’s why I am a bit more active as of late because I miss having a solid Shadow spec to play like it was pre Legion. Shadowlands content seems interesting (Torghast especially) and I want to experience it in a workable and fun manner as Shadow… Not as Disc because so far it seems Disc is better at DPS than shadow.

Two points:

  1. A forum posters class isn’t always a great indication of what they play in game. Many play multiple classes

  2. Also, the distinct lack of current priests agreeing with you is telling. If Voidform was popular why isn’t that represented in the forums? Given our small sample size the consensus for nearly all BFA is against Voidform as a mechanic. It’s also obviously difficult to balance.

What are you talking about? Do you have trouble reading sarcasm? Those don’t contradict each other. In fact, in the top one I’m complaining that you don’t play the game. In the bottom one I am doing the same.

Also, are you checking people’s legion activity before you dismiss them? Voidform was present then.

oh now i see it. That was really bad dude you need to work on your sarcasm.

If you don’t play the class, you can’t complain about how it plays. That’s literally impossible. That’s what is called group think. You haven’t even experienced it at all and yet you’ve made up your mind it’s bad because some people said it was?

The content has been crap this xpac. The class however I love. It’s insane to me that people just get to develop an opinion that they don’t like how something plays having never played it. Do you not think that’s just absurd? Especially when someone else is playing and enjoying the gameplay?

Have you tried looking up his legion raid history? You’d feel foolish if you did.

Look at my play history.
I would say the peak was in Cata content wise doing RGB’s & Heroic raiding but that doesn’t mean anything because we are not comparing what and when the content we did.

We are comparing the state of the Shadow Spec and how it functionally works and in its current form, it does not. But prior to Legion it did work.

In regard to “How do I know it wont work” its because it will clearly be over powered. Because once again, the scaling issue. It has been gone over multiple times in multiple threads but the way Insanity works at a fundamental level makes it so it will out scale other things and blizzard does not want that to happen (as it did early legion) and so they rather see the spec be broken vs overpowered / good.

So here we are, we are trying to fix it by tossing it out because it can only go to one extreme or the other.

what is wrong with you? you honestly think a bunch of people who never played shadow priest just showed up on the priest forums and decided to complain about voidform?

just cause we don’t post on our priests doesn’t mean we don’t have one.

EDIT: you need to get it together your not thinking straight. take a deep breath and a break. go ahead no one gonna miss you don’t worry

I played it a bit in Legion.

This is what I noticed.

  1. Given my extensive experience playing it since Vanilla in all forms of content and always coming out on top, I think I know how to play the class/spec.
  2. Legion comes and I struggle to jive with the spec. My friends and I pushed really high keys but I always found my priest lacking the tools I had just prior in WoD.
  3. So I took it as a sign that the class in its current form is not for me.
  4. Then come BFA and all the holes from all the classes from loosing Artifacts show up and I took a break from the game.
  5. Shadowland’s is announced and I want my spec back and NOW other people are seeing how bad it was when I noticed from the beginning in Legion. But back then I chalked it up to something just not right with me, but now others are seeing the issues and so I rather make it known this time around as I miss my Pre legion priest.

I also saw the issue and put my priest on a break for Legion. picked it up on BFA in the hopes of it being fixed and nope its still broken…but i stayed with it the whole expansion.
