Why do you guys like Faeline Stomp? It's just Rune of Power

It literally forces a high mobility class to stand in a small and confined area. It’s a little bit more forgiving with a lingering buff but it pretty much restricts you to a certain area and rewards you for it thus limiting mobility.

I think the monk who likes faeline stomp is more rare then the monk that doesn’t. Its just annoyingly powerful and basically impossible to ignore if you care at all about performance.

I ignore the hell out of it. I also don’t get invited to things …

I dont like it. Dont really need it either for 20’s/max vault rewards.

I don’t see many people saying they like Faeline Stomp’s playstyle. Liking the gameplay is much different than when it was the most viable option.

Faeline Stomp has always been criticized since it was permanently introduced to monks after Shadowlands-- especially considering Monks revolve around Chi, not Fae.

I love the way it looks, and loathe the way it plays.

I hate it. It’s one of the things that has kept me from always maining my monk this expansion. I don’t mind fistweaving as it was previously, but I don’t want to have to be rooted to garbage stomp so I don’t spec it. It makes no sense for a class that was supposed to be about mobility to be rooted. The good news is I don’t need it for max M+ rewards anyway.

Guess I’m the rare monk who enjoys faeline, I used it all through shadowlands as well. I like the idea of needing to think ahead of where you can send it, planning safe spaces to stand, fishing for resets etc. Granted I mostly play MW but I use it occasionally on WW. I just want the visuals to look more monk themed but I think that’s coming soon with the others being changed on ptr :dracthyr_a1:

I just don’t like the awkward size and how it starts in front of you. If it was circular I wouldn’t mind so much. Plus 2 uses would be a great quality of life change.

It should be a circle with 2 yards radius that moves with your character.

I also would prefer it circular, maybe similar aesthetics to ring of peace?

I was also nf most of Shadowlands. I went Bastion briefly to see what I was missing (spoilers: it was a lot) before going back to nf. For me, the decision was less about the covenant ability and more about the aesthetic of the “dancer-actor” and how it seemed to drive what I would consider a path to peace and harmony moreso than the emotionless contentment or outright malice the other covenants represented. Bringing others joy in the afterlife seemed more in line with Warcraft’s lighthearted Pandaria Monk lore than any other covenant.

Fun Guy is one of my top 3 titles, alongside Crashin’, Thrashin’ and the Gullible.

Faeline Stomp was not good in shadowlands and its the a bizarre thing to pull forward and try to make a staple, but I am thankful its not BDB anymore.

A loose rendition of the Yin Yang symbol would be neat

I also love the way it looks, but in terms of play I could take it or leave it. Feels real bad if you can reset before having to move from it, but it’s also not gonna make or break my heals, just streamline the process.

so on the yin yang concept, direct religious reference is probably a big no-no, but here’s my note on reworking ww:

(A Path Broken): Whirling Dragon Punch and Faeline Stomp cause the ground to expel Chi and slowly drag enemies toward the center of effect. Enemies affected receive 12% more damage from your abilities based on time exposed.

This is intended to replace Faeline Harmony alongside a change that places WDP on a choice node with FLS. The intent is minor functionality changes to allow player agency in which effect is most attractive to the Monk. The outcome would be that enemies hit by all strikes of WDP would have a debuff at appx. 50% the cooldown of WDP, but FLS would stack to 100% if they stay in the whole time (but is less punishing if they step out for a second). The damage delta on WDP activation bridging the difference in uptimes, with WDP falling slightly behind with more burst.

I also have the note here:

Glyph of the Escaped Sha: Your Chi effects are more Sha colored.

This would cause the usual “green radioactive gas escape” appearance to look more “black and white duality of sha” color, and would ultimately create the same color palette as a Yin Yang visual.

Hence why I say ‘loosely-based’, similar to how MoP was loosely based off a whole generational culture

Oh and in other news, looks like Faeline Stomp will be getting a visual update in the near future: New Animations for Covenant Talents Coming in Patch 10.2.5 https://www.wowhead.com/news/new-animations-for-covenant-talents-coming-in-patch-10-2-5-336240

Hopefully it will also get a functional update so it doesn’t tie us down like it currently does, or at least has some kind of forgiveness for walking off the “faeline”

I actually like FLS on Mistweaver.
I like the way it looks, how it sounds, the audiovisual impact it has, and the effects it gives in both PvE and PvP.

A simple solution to a majority of issues everyone has to to allow FLS to be able to reset without having to stand in it.
The other solution to those who care about the aesthetic is to make a Glyph to change it to green.

As for Windwalker, I don’t have a stance on it. They can explain those problems better than I can since I hardly play it.

A monk aesthetic and no cooldown would be a nice change.

Honestly I wish they didn’t keep monk convenant abilities in general. I didn’t play monk in shadowlands partly because I disliked every covenant ability.
