Recently Dragonflight got nominated for Game of the Year which it 100% deserves to win, the quality of this expansion might be top 3 of all time.
On my post about it people were saying WoW is too old, there’s better games, that DF isn’t good.
This type of negativity makes no sense, we’re in a WoW forum board and people are actively seeking to make the game look worse when we need to be more positive as a community.
Perhaps its because you didn’t like the criticism, such as not accepting “Kids games” like Nintendo while WoW was so dumbed down to that as well.
Again, Dragonflight is good but it certainly isn’t perfect either… I may be a shill for Blizzard titles but even I don’t think its that deserving when there’s others that deserve it more (Which within the game of the year that Dragonflight is not) and even then, you wouldn’t accept games like Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom or Metroid Prime because its a “Kids game”
Dragonflight is only good because its a breakaway from the terrible expansion we just had and only piggybacks on previous expansion to help with its narrative and story plot, and the expansion isn’t even done yet. So we have yet to know the full picture.
I think they have pretty good reasons for what you have stated.
Well this part is still true, it’s their target audience. I spend time with professionals in their field, and most of us are 40+ and aside from our kids we don’t know any adults that play Nintendo titles.
Well, talking to one right now that can attest that the demographic is so broken when it comes to ages old titles that have existed for 40 years. Imagine a franchise being that old too.
Pokemon may be targeted for kids but it has FLIPPED hard for the older generation while you got Call of Duty who is for the older demographics and yet… well, you can imagine that its played by kids. That cannot be any more of a brutal truth I can give. And that applies seriously to anything.
Nope. I’m out of here, big guy. If you think I’ve started hundreds of threads over the years that offended you by being forced to open them and read them, you’re delusional. I think I’ve started maybe half a dozen (non-CS) threads in all the time I’ve been in these forums.
You dont offend me. I never stated you offend me. I never stated you started hundreds of threads over the years. I never stated you forced me to read them.
But here you are, having no intention of an honest discussion.
A large mixture of reasons. However, a general summary for me is that WoW has become too personal to a lot of people. It’s a very old game, which many people attach to various points in their life when they were happier. When the game fails to maintain that sentimental feeling forever, they get angry at it. It’s in WoW’s nature to change, and many people can’t accept that.
