Why do we need two games?

Your reply was half assed and pisses off a lot of people.

Only one it pissed off is you because you are obviously trolling.

Once again as I have already mentioned, I am not trolling,

So modern players are pissed because they can’t fly in classic zones, LFD is removed, heirlooms ard gone, and classes are less balanced,
Classic fans are pissed because flying is everywhere else, leveling is a breeze, dungeons are a joke.

You’ve made everyone mad.

There is no evidence for this nonexistent hypothetical angry mob you are trying to scare me with Matcauthon.

His arguments are garbage and doesn’t realize it.

Its ok thats why the report function was created.

tell me how to salvage the lore

I’m not familiar with the lore, but I don’t believe it would be too difficult to ā€œsalvageā€.

Explains a lot…

I’m sorry Savax if I made you angry, but you asked for it.

Some players want Classic authentic vanilla WoW, others want hello kitty island adventure. Hence, two games.

Do you have nothing better to do than troll the classic forum?

The second rule of troll club: you DO NOT talk about troll club

Right, those that want true to life 2006 vanilla experience can literally play a 99% exact copy for free with a few google clicks.

But there are millions of people who played early wow and may want to again who don’t play pservers, for lots of reasons.

Is that the third rule of troll club?

What reasons are those? I would actually like to know. Thats what I came to the forums for.

It’s not actually as easy as Google it and click download.

It’s sketchy (or seems sketchy)

It’s unreliable

There’s issues with GM corruption

Others may have said this above, but I stopped reading comments at this point. Some of us have actively chosen NOT to play private servers. There are numerous reasons. For me, it was always my personal sense of ethics. I like paying or attributing original content makers. For some it is disliking the chance of losing all the work if one shuts down. For some it is worrying about computer security connection to a non-US server (specifically in countries where the legal system we rely on in the U.S. isn’t applicable). For some it is the small differences and bugs that existed because this wasn’t Blizzard’s server code.

Consider this. At the tail end of vanilla, as BC was released, there were 8 million active accounts paying to play World of Warcraft. Over the next 4 years, the number of active accounts climbed to 12.5 million. Now, that’s not the number of accounts created. That’s the net players remaining as veterans left, accounts got banned, etc. There are a LOT of people out there who played at one time or another and quit.

WHY DO WE NEED TWO GAMES?

The simple answer is we individually do not. You need (want) Retail. I need (want) Classic. Some players need (want) both games. Two separate games delivers the best of both worlds for all of us.

There is no bastard child of Retail and Classic that will ever give me the experience of vanilla that I want. Too much would have to be taken away from Retail, and that is not fair to anyone who likes the game as it is now or as it was in Legion or as it will be in 8.1
