Keep that up and you’ll jinx it.
Well, if I’m picking up what Blizzard is putting down then the 2 piece should be the same-ish for tanks. The prot warrior one is.
- 2pc: Each time you take damage you have a chance to cast Shield Wall for 4.0 sec and gain Luck of the Draw!, which increases your damage dealt by 15% for 10 sec.
So we can assume every tanks is…
- 2pc: Each time you take damage you have a chance to cast [Defensive CD] for 4.0 sec and gain Luck of the Draw!, which increases your damage dealt by 15% for 10 sec.
They are grasping at straws because TWW is such a stinker so they are putting in as little effort as possible.
I read it as all tanks get that 2p but the “Shield Wall” is just changed for that tank spec’s DR
I think it will be okay for DPS and healers - Mostly, it may not be super fun and engaging but, mostly okay. The tank one however is a really…interesting choice that goes against the previously stated design goals and justification for tank nerfs that they want less spikey, more predictable damage. Adding a RNG based 40~% DR is completely the opposite of that and is incredibly frustrating.
That isn’t how I read it. I read it as that 4 second proc will change to whatever warrior spec’s big cooldown is.
Maybe I’m wrong but it doesn’t matter anyway. These tier sets are so early days… not even an hour old post. Everything is subject to change and since player feedback seems negative right now, I have no doubt they’ll change.
“Unique per role” so is it role per class? Or by role they mean dps. Because that mean all dps would have the same 2pc.
Before I go off about how disgustingly lazy that would be I’ll wait for confirmation.
If it is, it is lame. I guess I missed that part “per role”. I can see it saving dev time, but it just seems so bland and uninspired.
I worry less about the bonuses and more about what dead animal skull are they going to make hunters wear this time.
Per role inside each class.
Those that have 2 dps and a tank (warriors) will have the 2 dps sharing a bonus and the tank one will be its own
Those that have 2 healer specs and 1 dps spec (priest) will have the dps sharing bonus.
Thats how i interpret it
Sounds boring. But it will push more people making alts the more generic tier sets are. So I get it. Even if I don’t like it.
It was a joke, regarding how inept Blizzard’s class developer has historically been at understanding how different classes work.
And taking your example, I’m assuming the equivalent 3.5-minute-ish cooldown for Brewmasters will be Fortifying Brew, right?
So Warrior 2-piece procs a 40% damage reduction, and Brewmaster procs a 20% damage reduction.
Fair and balanced, right?
Oh but then people will say, “no, no, brewa, shield wall is in the prot spec tree, so Brewmasters will also have a defensive in the brewmaster spec tree pop”.
Oh, so… Zen Med? So you can’t do anything and it breaks on the first auto-attack?
Great.
Anyway, my whole point is that class design is already in the toilet. And for Blizzard to add these cross-class things, when only half of the classes are even FINISHED currently, is asinine.
I wish I had the proper words to describe how lazy and stupid Blizzard’s class developer is (and no, there isn’t more than 1 person doing it at this point, who are you kidding?).
Idk i assumed the first because eww to the second. Really really hoping its not that bad.
But tbh now that you mention it, insurance and luck of the draw are very generic names
I think it’s cool. There’s only so many tier set bonuses you can do (especially after 20 years) and this is at least a different attempt on it.
Quoting someone who here thinks we need more classes: “BuT BrEw WaS iN tHe RwF.”
It’s actually even more generic than that. ALL DPS specs will share the same 2 piece.
Eh, it’s not great but it’s not the end of the world. Hopefully there will be some exciting trinkets.
Not quite. All healers will have the same 2 piece. All DPS the same 2 piece. All tanks the same 2 piece although they kind of cheated with the Tank 2 piece because it gives 4 seconds of a major CD. The healer one is extremely generic though and makes no mention of any class specific abilities.
And some major CDs are more major than others.
Then it would just mention a 2 and 4 piece and not mention roles or class specifics
I think it’ll be role specific inside class specifics
Yeah it’s a strange decision that seems to be counter to their goal. Couldn’t it just have been that getting hit causes you to sometimes gain 4 seconds of 20% damage reduction? Now it is truly the same for all tank specs.
